AM/FM Headphones

I hate that. Happens from time to time. A machine just doesn't sound or feel right. Sometimes it's an accurate assessment, but most times just our perception has been skewed for one reason or another. If you leant out a machine, it never sounds right getting it back.

I have these LG ear buds. They rest at the base of your neck. Best Bluetooth sounding device I’ve ever owned. Receive phone calls as well. IMG_0150.JPGI went through a few other brands before a young person at Verizon showed me them.

Life’s to short to listen bad sounding music

I went with the Bluetooth Work Tunes. The charge lasts a long time. I can hear the cell phone ring through them. I cannot answer but it lets me know if I get a call. I have been very happy with them

Actually you can answer. Just push the power button and it will connect. I usually ask the caller to hold on while I shut the tractor off but I have had a conversation with it still running. Push the button again and it hangs up and reconnects to Pandora or other media you may be using.

I’ve got the AM/FM/BT WorkTunes and primarily wear them for ear protection on my Kubota ZD1211 zero turn. Our tractors both have cabs and great radios. I use AM, FM, and BT about equally.

The ear muffs started deteriorating, on my WorkTunes and I found you can contact 3M with model # and they will send you free replacements. I wish I knew that sooner, as I threw away my original AM/FM WorkTunes with bad muffs.

Would be a cool day in heck that I shut off a machine to answer a phone call.

One new pair of work tunes had terrible audio (no bass) and they promptly sent me a new pair.

Is there a current consensus on the go-to?

not sure why this is in the safety forum. anyway am sure my comment will grate with some, but personally, feel headphones are an unnecessary luxury & a safety hazard for tractor/machinery operators for obvious safety reasons. there are numerous times when brush hogging that if i were distracted bobbing my head w/tunes, my attention would be diverted from boulders or other obstacles putting me & machinery at risk.

i only comment this since the post is in the safety forum. i'm sure many would disagree with me. just be aware as you make your choice of acoustics. best regards
GAD, the safety police, he only asked for a consensus. Didn't say how he was going to use them.

And I tried the BT worktunes, they died about 13 months after purchase and probably 10 hours of use.

They do run on batteries. 10 hours sounds about right if you listen to a lot of metalica.

I started using the Eneloop AA rechargeable batteries, in mine, about two years ago.

Since we're talking about ear proctectors and bluetooth connectivity - I have bluetooth hearing aids and have them connected to my cell phone, works quite well. However, on the ranch, the cell phone doesn't work very well, so I've been looking for one of those grms family radios with bluetooth that will connect to my hearing aids so my wife can call me. I've not found anything yet, anyone know if it even exists?

I use an older Apple iPod that has both FM and digital storage for my personal iTunes library of music. I like the FM capability because I tune in to our local FM station when attending games or watching my favorite football teams on TV-turn down the volume on biased TV announcers and tune in our local guys. Or I can access my music library when I desire.
