I too have had my problems with kids who were not taught how to work so they don't think they have to. One 18 yr was working as my helper doing HVAC and I asked for a pair of vise grips and he picked up 5 or 6 tools out of a small tool bag before he said I don't know what they look like. I had to climb down off of my ladder and tell him the names of all the tools in my bag. The next day we could not find him and they found him sleeping. He made some excuse and seemed to think all was well. Kingdelta5 I know how you feel, and that was only one of several. What scares me is what will happen if true hard times come like our moms and dads knew?![]()
Ain't that the truth, I thought I worked hard growing up, but my parents had to drop out of school to help support their family. My grandparents were fifteen and sixteen when they got married and my grandfather already had a full time job and had bought his own car.
Maybe it is a natural progression; just don't know.
