I carry a Taurus .357 Mag w/4" barrel when I'm out on my farm, and I really want a .357 Mag lever action rifle, w/20" barrel to carry as well as a compliment to the pistol. Reasoning being that I only have to carry 1 ammo type with me when I'm out there.
Am I foolish to spend the money on a .357 lever action just to fill my desire to have the same ammo delivery system?

Sounds good to me, actually I'm a little jealous.

You want what you want. No justification required. Be glad you have worked long enough to be able to do what you want. It even makes sense in this case.

Not foolish at all. I have a glock 26 9mm and have been thinking of getting a glock 17 as well. I like the little g26 because it's easily carried and I'll leave the larger g17 upstairs in my bedroom nightstand. I have a .38 downstairs just incase the you know what hits the fan and I happen to be down stairs. You can never have too many guns.

Sometimes you need to do something just because you want to.

I never said I could actually afford it. I just want it. Gonna have to figure out HOW to finance the purchase if I can .....

Your convenience concerns are common and valid. Handy speed from the pistol; accuracy and greater terminal ballistics from the carbine.

You didn't create the wheel but you surely know what it looks like.

Great idea from a long time ago. As you have a Taurus already, how about a Rossi (Taurus) Mares Leg in .357?

Love the Mare's Leg idea and I'm giving some thought to buying one myself and I'm giving some thought to putting an actual stock with a shortened pull on one and, of course, paying the tax crap...yeah. I sold a Marlin 1895 Guide gun as it was brutally redundant to my 308 Frontier Rifle but I'd like this a lot in 44 Mag to match my Super Blackhawk and this would make a great tractor rifle.

Tech141, you're spending my money faster than my wife!
