Yep, I've done that a few times myself; sure is painful, ain't it? /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Oh yeah! Bicycle handlebar dismount - been there, done that! You could even say I've perfected that one! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

As to the horses - been studying quite a bit lately on horse training. Per the so called experts, you should train your horse to be mounted from both sides. Especially for horses on trail rides where you may or may not be able to dismount to the left. It seems the horse will get use to what ever he is taught. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

You've gotta do it just right. Sorta a tuck and roll and come up standing and running and hope there wasn't a rock where the roll should have been.

"hope there wasn't a rock where the roll should have been."

Babyheads make for an unpleasant faceplant.

Most of my scars are from bicycle dismounts of one kind or another. Do left-handed cowboys favor the left side?

The first L3 tractors (L3350, L3750, L4150) had steps on both sides. The loader control was on the right so when entering or exiting that side it was easy to bump the lever. On later L3 models, the loader stick has a position lock - and the right side step was no longer supplied. Might be the safety department's influence?

Yep, at least all the ones I've watched did.
