AM I PAYING TO MUCH

Hello everyone I am new to this forum and to tractors, but I have been getting a lot of info from TBN and decided on the New Holland TC35D 4x4 with a front end loader. I was told from the dealer who is a friend of a friend that he was charging me 7% over cost as a deal to me. The price he is asking is 19,118.00. Which after looking around on TBN is pretty high. What could I use with them to work out a better price.

I would get a quote from a dealer who is not a friend! If you resent what you paid everytime you get into the seat, he will be your former friend in any event. But having something that gives you the ability to say, " I stopped into another dealer as I was driving by and they are letting these go for $_____." $1340 (the amount of your 19118 that this 7% represents (if he is telling you straight about his cost) may not be too much, but having some competition will give you peace of mind.

I think my dealer made about $5-700 on my TC35 ....which with loader, add-ons and cutter was 18K and change. I do know that he beat the overall cost of two other dealers....this more than what he said about his margin made me love him.

I bought a tc35, foldable rops, deluxe 3ph, 16la loader with heavy duty bucket, and r4 tires in june 2001. The prices before tax were 12,778 for tractor and 3,500 for the loader for a total of 16,278.00 This price included 500.00 credit on the tractor from New Holland for filling out a credit application on the spot at a tractor show.

I have a friend who called a dealer friend of his and tried to beat it, he would not. But he told my friend that his cost was 15,6?? can't remember exactly.

I believe that the D model is around a thousand more than the plain one. 16600x1.07=17762. None of this is for sure and prices could have changed since then.

Price sounds about a thousand too high to me. Hope this helps. Is he really a "friend" or is he an acquaintance?

Thanks csaw for your input. He is actually a friend of a friends brother. But while talking with him he gave me a price after typing on the calculator for 2 minutes which made me start to wonder what he was adding up. Then the second time I visited he asked me what he had told me on the first trip. I told him I left the paper at home but i would check it when I get back against his new price and his reply was that prices differ every month due to NH price changes..

Thanks overlyrun for your info, I think I am going to check with another local dealer to see what they are offering. This might help keep my friend as a friend and a dealer as a dealer. I hope they have a price like you paid. If there are any dealers out there that could give some input on this I would really appreciate any info on discounts or incentives going on this month from NH. Thanks again for your help.

You guys like to guess dealer cost why guess here it is.
TC35D, r4 tires, 4x4, 16la loader, standard 72" bucket.
$16868.00 This does not include dealer freight cost or set up cost. Hope this helps you all out. This price includes the $1050.00 dealer settlement allowance New Holland is offering the dealers right now.

What is the dealer settlement cost? Is that a rebate to the dealer for selling certain models?

yes the 16868 would be 1050.00 higher if new holland was not giving the dealers this allowance right now..new holland does not call it a rebate to the customer they offer it to the dealer so they will sell more by reducing there selling price.
