Amazon created a concrete shortage

Tallahassee? That could speed up my deliveries. Currently most everything comes to me out of Jacksonville in 2-3 days. USPS does the last mile.

Not sure your source on that info, but we often are still getting packages in a day or less. The only time it takes longer is when A) I don't want it that soon or B) it has been clearly pointed out prior to order.

I get it Amazon is not my favorite company, but until or unless someone does it better and/or for less, they will grow.
My source is my personal experience. I have Prime and I haven't seen ANYTHING show as shipped in less than 3 days and haven't received anything in less than 5. Sometimes longer. These are items listed as sold AND shipped by Amazon. I am 5 hours from Atlanta Ga. and less than 3 from Jacksonville FL.

Our county commissioners approved the building of an Amazon fulfillment center against all the protests from their constituents. We already have more jobs than workers and they taut the need for more jobs in their decision.

Meanwhile we're in the midst of a building boom but the Amazon center is buying up all the local concrete. All slab home constrution has come to a standstill. Price of concrete went up and all the bids for slab construction have to be rebid.

Yes they are taking over the freaking country. All truck drivers went to Amazon, retail stores closing left and right…yet we continue to use them. Damn their fairly awesome service! Honestly they have been invaluable to me. We are 45 min away from most stores.

A nearby fulfillment center won't change the fact that Amazon intentionally waits 3 to 4 days to ship anything now. They baited everyone with two day shipping then changed the terms to two days AFTER they process your order. Everything is a week or more out now.

In my area (huge distribution warehouse in Denver) I get stuff next day all the time…no extra cost. I have even gotten a few things same day. Crazy. It just depends on where you live.

Sounds like they just don’t like you. I ordered something yesterday and got it that night. Anything taking longer than 2 days to be on my doorstep is exceptionally rare, and I order a lot of stuff.

I've seen a number of these Amazon warehouses in the north east region - probably in ten to fifteen years many of these will be abandoned shells......
What is your basis for that statement? There’s no decline in Amazon’s business in sight. In fact it is increasing.

Already a problem with vacant Walmart stores. The Wals won't sell because they are afraid someone else will open a big box store, so there they sit, huge buildings surrounded by acres of asphalt parking lots.

Where are there empty Walmart stores? I have yet to see one that doesn’t have a parking lot full of customers.
