Somehow I got signed up for Amazon Prime when I placed an order a few weeks ago. I immediately cancelled it, but somehow ended up with a month of free trial. Now, when I go to checkout, I get only the option of signing up for Prime or paying for shipping. They advertise free shipping for orders over $25, but I am not offered that. I have been unable to ask the question on the site. Does anyone have a suggestion?

I thought it was going to $35 for free shipping? And the free shipping isn't on everything, especially from 3rd party vendors who still might charge.

I think they tried that a while back and recanted. You are right about some 3rd party vendors.

It's been $25, $35 and $49 over the years, but last I knew it was $25. I haven't heard if they're kicking it up again, but it wouldn't surprise me.

But all items making up the amount have to be SHIPPED by Amazon, regardless of who the seller is. It doesn't matter if items in your order are from a third party seller that ships for free, it matters that the items SHIPPED by Amazon total the minimum amount required.

I'm going to cancel my Amazon prime after 10 yrs. It still takes about 5 business days (sometimes longer) to get packages. At $130 / yr it doesn't seem worth it.

It will be interesting to see whether you are offered their "free" shipping after you do that. I just tried it again and got the same results as before. I erased the cart before proceeding further.

I agree with you that the cost of Prime does not make sense for me.

I have been unable to ask anyone at Amazon about this. I figured that someone here would know more about talking to a real person there.

Pay for the Prime - if you will use it!
I use it a lot!
I got an airfilter for my vehicle the other day for $12 with free shipping. It was $44 from the dealer.

They do make it hard to contact-but I think you can do call in/back to them.
I have done that in the past for issues.

I seem to spend more time in Prime video than Netflix. And Prime video rentals are sometimes cheaper then comicast. But we don't rent videos much.

I also went through the Amazon Prime issues, my opinion it’s a big scam and Amazon controls it .
I unsuccessfully canceled it twice online , after all that trouble I called my credit card and they gave me this Amazon customer service number 888-280-4331 and it still took a couple months to get all my Amazon Prime money refunded.
