Amazon?

I'm opposed to HOW they do it. Most use extremely unscrupulous tactics. WM didn't become known as town killers by accident. They deliberately set out to be the only store in town and were very adept at it.

MS and Apple didn't become the predominant PC companies by accident. They tromped all over a number of others in the process.

You cannot get to that level honestly and honorably.

AMZ is doing the same things by wiping out competition. Can't get the low transport rates from UPS, FedEx, USPS and others you want? Start your own fleets of trucks, planes and local delivery and take all of the money.

And their big money is not from there. They are one of the largest web hosting providers and their big money comes from AWS that serves most other retail and government websites.

They may be convenient, but they are not honorable.

Yes, providing a great user interface to order anything you want delivered to your door in 2-5 days is such an unscrupulous tactic.

Last I checked MS still doesn’t make PCs.

And WM providing everything you need in 1 location, shame on them!!!

Finding a better way to do business, so unamerican. They should be forced to pay others higher rates to deliver their goods.

I've never seen a small town store go out of business that wasn't just begging for it to happen. There was a thread on that earlier but the short version is if you have very little in stock and keep bankers hours you can't complain when someone else who does business better takes your customers.

Being armpit deep in tech since the late 80s I'd disagree. In the end they all offered what customers wanted just like every successful tech company.

That's just being smarter than the other guys. Bezos figured out how to deliver a toaster oven, a tube of axle grease, goat food and a box of #8 machine screws all to my doorstep next day. What he has done for shipping and logistics is borderline alien tech genius.

And their big money is not from there. They are one of the largest web hosting providers and their big money comes from AWS that serves most other retail and government websites.
That's just more genius. When the tools they needed for their business didn't exist they didn't give up like most do, they created them. They design their own chips too for the same reason. Then on top of that they found a way to market those creations to others as it's own line of business. All that does is demonstrate how truly revolutionary they are in creating and running their business. It's a fascinating story once you dig into it.

I was planning to rebut Diggin It's comments, but you said it better.
Pretty amazing for a company that was little more than an online bookstore 20 years ago.

And now facing calls for a criminal investigation.

Bipartisan lawmakers???? wanting an investigation into Amazon for "deceiving" congress during an antitrust probe. Just who has been deceiving who????

Who cares. More taxpayer money burning a hole in our pockets by our "lawmakers".

Just imagine if Amazon operated like Congress, “you have to buy it before you get to see what you bought”. Or something like that.

Believe or not we've had a hard time getting Franks hot sauce from our distributor so I ordered a gallon from Az. Came in and I was told, this is to thin and not the same as we usually get, blah blah. I tried to return it and it's not returnable and I chatted with Az and asked where on that product page it said that? It's never been opened. They said keep it and credited the amount $20. I too dislike Bezos but man that's good service.
I now know and wouldn't ask again for a food product to be returned again.

You don't know what you're missing by not getting Louisiana Hot Sauce or Crystal hot sauce. These Louisiana hot sauces are also cayenne pepper sauces and are more chili tasting and less vinegar tasting than even Tabasco which is America's top selling hot sauce. Yes, Amazon sells them too.

I have had a few things that were the wrong item or defective when I received them, and usually if it's a $25 or under item, they say to keep it and send you another one. It's not worth the shipping and processing cost to return it.
