"Ride". It's fairly new.

I forgot which EDUCATIONAL channel it is on. But, there are only about 6 educational channels.

I agree, the POW bike was the best yet IMHO. I do get tired of hearing the bickering at times.

I think the POW episode included a pheasant hunting sidetrip of the three. Boy was that scary. I was just waiting for one of them to shoot someone or a dog.

They are a very creative and talented bunch though, gotta give em that!

Give Norm and others $2500 to equip their shop. They need to figure out how to buy the tools and stay under that budget to get the job done. Give them $200 - $500 for materials for their project. Then, let's see what their project looks like!!!
That, my friends, is a reality show.

Hee, hee. That would be good. Here's what the title of the show should be...

"This old house that you have to live in while you work a full time job and have a reallistic budget and no corporate donations while you remodel it because you can't afford to put $250,000.00 into a classic old house that you paid $350,000.00 for in the first place and it was structurally unsound so who's the joke on now?"

Or something like that /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

TOH is kind of getting back to their roots with the segment Ask TOH.

I'm sure much of the discord is for the cameras, but once they get to the point of showing the work they do, I am in awe. The one last night where Jr was building the soap box derby car, they wreck the "fire" bike and did the New York Jets bike, this episode had a lot more actual work in it than usual. Its not just their craftsmanship, but their engineering that is a marvel to me. Many of you guys share this ability, I am completely deficient in that regard.

my thing is all that they give back to the community. they are really there for the folks around them. dont foreget that paul sr. made his money in fencing. he makes some awesome iron fences. this occ is fun for him.

I get a kick out of the series and I can relate to Paul Sr. Both my brother and myself grew up in a Heating & AC Co. that my now deceased father founded. He ran the business just like Paul Sr. There was no other way about it.

I don't think the bickering even bothers the sons, as that is the way they were most likely raised. I'll bet by now they have a lot of callous as a result that insulates them for the arguing and insults that Paul Sr. spits out.

He's still a colorful character to say the least. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I don't really watch the tube much...but happened to turn it on and saw the last half of the third part of the POW bike series.

And what do I remember about it? Long screws that are being shortened by hold against a grinding wheel...the satisfaction on the dad's face as he finally gets one of those screws [looking like he was about to cross thread it] into it's hole. It was holding a heat shield on the exhaust pipe I think.

And me, as I am watching this, I'm wondering how they could make any money in real life, if that is the way the shop operates.

Granted the bike turned out real nice. I would not want one...not my style. I turn the set off wondering who really built it...as the show ended.

[fast forward a day or so...]

THEN....It's SUPERBOWL TIME!!!

And who do we see in numerous commercials for something I have already forgotten? [High speed internet or something...]

The kid with long blond hair...is that Paul Jr. ?

Well, at least he was more entertaining than the Super Bowl half-time show!

I think I'll leave the tube off and spend my viewing time here at TBN!

Yes, they really build the bikes. $50,000 and up per bike.

That's Mikey.
