Ammo $$ going up??

Seems my "lil ol thread" started out asking for some sources possibly unknown to me for online ammo or maybe better deals....
I think one guy, maybe two offered options.

I just thought of one place... Have you looked at Sportsman Guide? I ordered other stuff from them a couple years ago. The catalogs they sent had tons of common ammo like .308, 30-06, .223, 9mm. I'm sure you could Google them.

One thing about threads, they start, and then wander a bit, as the initial idea or question triggers other ideas and thoughts

I just picked up a CZ 52 surplus military semi automatic pistol in 7.62x25. I get surplus ammunition from sportsmans guide for $80 for 800 rounds, and I got a similar price from Impact Guns of Arizona. A tremendous bang for the buck. A fireball too. This is a very accurate pistol that is fun to shoot. Everyone will take notice when it shoots the flame and makes that cannon sound. I shoot a lot at 10 cents per round.

Come to think of it.. i need stripper clips too! and uh.. some # 11 perc caps...

I'm going target shooting this weekend.

I see walmart has .45acp and 9mm in boxes of 100 rnds labeld 'practice ammo',.... cheap.. Looke dlike winchester.. but I couldn't see thru the glass very good.. and of course.. no couter person to be found.

Any comments? is this stuff RNL or FMJ .. or ? ?

I bought some of the Winchester 100 round loose pack 9MM this week for $14.97 FMJ 115 gr It shot well and loaded easier in the mags than the reloads.

I used some in 45acp a month ago. It worked fine.

I usually get whatevers cheap for "plinkfest" except Wolf.
PMC, Sellier and Belot, even mil surplus when it surfaces are fine w/ me.

Soundguy: It worked fine for about 20 minutes.........and then it was gone.

It might be my imagination, but it seemed to load easier into the magazines than my usual reloads sold by the gun range. Since it shot fine, I am planning to go back and get several more boxes at $14.97 per 100 It's cheaper partly because you don't get the two little trays. It is a loose pack. That's fine with me since I can reload staright from the box into the mags. My new 9MM is a S&W M&P model and it has only jammed once. That was on the 2nd or 3rd round ever put through it while new out of the box. In the 3 weeks I have owned it, it has seen about 600 rounds so far. No noticeable difference in reloads vs Winchester vs Remington ammo.
