Ammunition

I just ordered some .22 shorts, what I like to use for squirrels, from Army Navy store online. They had best price. It's that CCI brand. Hecho en America? I hope.

the company that owns Dicks, also owns Field & Stream.. Field & Stream (here) has waaaaaay more ammo than Academy or dicks with good ammo prices

I am an ffl holder, the ammo situation sucks, from a seller and a consumer standpoint. I'm down to 3k rounds of 5.56 and 1600 rnds of 22lr. That may sound decent, but there are 4 of us in this house and it goes quick if we decide to spend an evening shooting. I hope it gets better but it comes in spurts.

I have beer little clue about much guns rather then a .22 is a good pest problem fixer. Got one but never actually shot it. But I do love units thread so far

All the "brands" mentioned in the OP are "eastern European" Not Chinese. The Orient got a bad rap for the steel core military ammo and are now shunned as business partners for ammo.

With that, the Wolf , Golden tiger, and Tula are all useful. I've never seen GT in 154 grain SP, but I have seen both Tula and Wolf in that bullet type.

As far as quality, The GT is well sealed, with extra sealant on both neck and primer. Good for storage!
I'm running though a case of Klimovsk (sp) 123 grain fmjbt. Shoots fast at 2400fps avg, but it is a bit corrosive. I clean after every outing. Accuracy is "typical" meaning not so good, but no worse than the 154 grain Tula. 6 inch pie plates at 100yds.

At <$6 a box, Those Rusky rounds are hard to beat!

I'm picky about where my bullets are made. I try to only buy Hecho en USA.

When Hornady is pushing steel cased 7.62X39, one has to wonder where the components are coming from.

I reload everything except obviously 22 rim fire. My preferred choice for handgun bullets are plated bullets. They are comparably priced with lead bullets without the barrel fouling. I also cast lead bullets, but it is only worthwhile on my 4570 or when the SHTF and prices go through the roof. If I want to blow up water filled milk jugs I use Hornady hollow points. I hate steel case crap and refuse to shoot it in my high end guns.

Could you relate your comment to the original post? I can't seem to.

It is a thread about ammunition. I'm sure I am not the only person on TBN that reloads their own ammunition.
