Terry,
Thanks for the update. I am so behind because of the rains. I decided to plant field corn and have the ground ready, but it's too wet to get in there now.
hugs, Brandi

Great idea with the bath. I'll file that away for when I get a place with a bath.

Never seen the tub kit... learn something new everyday on TBN.

Nice job on the bathtub. I've had a few clients talk to me about the tubs you replace the existing one with that have the door in the side of them, but the cost was always a lot more then just gutting the tub and creating an ADA shower for them. I'll remember this and suggest it the next time somebody brings it up.

If you thought March was wet, then April is going to really impress you!!!! We are getting a storm almost every night. Anywhere from an inch and a half to a quarter inch. The lakes are overflowing to the point that a lot of docks are under water and there are boats floating away because they where too low on their hangers. Some have even risin inside their stalls and hit the ceiling!!!

Like you said, the ground sure is soft. I was able to put in 80 T posts by hand yesterday afternoon. No way could I have done that in summer. Are coyotes a problem where you are? Will you have to do anything to keep them out of your goat pastures? I've heard that they can cause terrible damage to the kids and sometimes get into a killing spree where they just kill as bunch of them and not try to eat a single one.

I nominate you as Son In Law of the year.

That dog absolutely must have a bit of hyena in it.

Hope you have some good knee pads for that bathtub job. It came out great.

Very wet here in Texas. I can't finish planting my garden. I put some tomato plants (I purchased at the Farm Patch in Bryan) in the garden last week and they may die from drowning. If you haven't tried the Farm Patch yet, you have got to go there. Really good place to buy fruits and veggies. A very unique place.

They still need more rain in the central Texas lakes.

Yessir... That tub-to-shower kit was a real money-saver... and it is supposed to be equally capable on steel, cast iron or plastic tubs, so this may be a real alternative on some of your rehab jobs. Here is the website - The Step Through Store: Tub to Shower Conversion Kits They were great to deal with by email and phone. The kit is a really thick rotamolded PVC. I was impressed. And the non-skid finish they sold me is a water-clear finish that I applied directly to the porcelain tub. It is very unobtrusive and thus far shows no flaws. Anyway... good stuff from a good company.

Water Water Everywhere!!! This sure has been a wet winter... too bad a lot of the water is missing the lake country... but I am still smarting from all the trees we lost over 3 years of drought, so I will reserve my complaining for another season or so... It'll dry up soon enough...

Coyotes are not much of a problem around my part of Grimes county, but feral hogs and feral dogs thick as fleas... so far my wire / mesh / wire perimeter fencing has kept most of the dogs and all but the smallest hogs out... once I get up there full-time, having full-time dogs in attendance, a little work with some barbed wire and an occasional shotgun shell should keep things safe enough.

Yeah, Boy... a miniature Hyena...

As a matter of fact, I do have a mighty nice pair of knee-pads... courtesy of a nice Sgt in the 10th Mtn Div... my old knees are pretty tore up to begin with, so EVERY job is planned with my old bones in mind.

Too bad about the 'maters... as the prophet said, "There's only two things that money can't buy, and that's True Love and Home Grown Tomatoes..."

You are not the first person to brag about The Farm Patch... as much time as I spend in Bryan I'll have to give it a visit...

So try and keep dry... I'm headed back in a few days... If an old white F-150 gets in front of you on Hwy 30 doing 30mph, wave at me with all your fingers...

...and you currently bath in a __________ ....?

I don't....although there are hot pools just up the road but they might get upset if I turn up there with my soap and shampoo. This place never had a bath when I bought it but it does have 3 showers. Bit of an overkill as I live on my own and can only use one at a time.
