Brilliant move! I think that the bovine must have been hearing impaired as he was clearly reported to have been warned twice by the 2 Deputy Barny Phifes. Let's hope that it was not an illegal, oops, I mean, undocumented bovine that didn't speak english! The aclu wwill have a heyday with these leo's.

What were they going to do with the cow after they tasered her? Read her her rights and handcuff her?   I'd really like to watch them take them off afterwards! :D

Why, that is udderly ridiculous.

I have a high way crossing our property. And cows on both sides with good fences. If it isn't cars breaking down the fences driving off the road. or trees falling some times dogs chasing the cattle. the cows will stay inside. Then when one gets out just a 5 gal. bucket and slow walking they usually will walk to gate and go inside. 3 months ago a cow was out and I was using this method to return cow and a pick stopped to help. No problem except he put on hazard blinker lights so other cars stopped some steped out of car to watch then a "Blond" started to pass 5 vehices with people standing beside waving to slow her down . Just before completing the passing a truck flat bed trailer with 30 tires on the pavement came from other direction and almost creamed her and with out touching her brakes continued down the road. The smoke of the trucks tires and horn scared the cow to force her into the field through the wires.
There is no way all see the same problem as a condition ot make a change.

Here's a link to a video of a rodeo bull that escaped from the Houston Stock Show Rodeo. About 45 seconds into the video, a cop runs in and tasers the bull and almost gets run over by it.

I remeber a few years ago my late neighbor HW frederick had pasture out by the road and his wife came in from the sale and put a donkey in the pasture. I tree had fallen on the fence sometome that day. We we going down the main HWY and saw more cops than Ive ever seen before here. I respect most LEO's but this was rediculous I mean the @ss was smarter than all the troopers and deputys there and the resque squad.

They had enough cops there to stop the 4 main roads in the county. We had a scanner in the truck and it was hilarious. The self appointed sniper was on the hood of his car in full tactical gear hat turned around backwards on a sand bag. On the radio every time the rescue squad and other folks running the poor thing crazy he would say Its near the road Im about to drop it im about to drop it. He and the little dispatcher girl were having a fling and you could here her getting a little hot and bothered saying in a sickening voice drop him ...... drop him dont let him get i nthe road .......

Finally some truckers stopped the road up. THe resque squad turned their dogs loose on the donkey that made it worse. Then an old man taking feed to his cows stopped got a yellow hydraulic oil bucket out with feed in it and caught the donkey. All of 5 minutes. When it was all don they bragged that they were about to shoot the burro when the old man got there

Sounds as if all the officers in all of these stories were city boys who knew nothing about farm animals.

Idiots. All I can say is they are What The Fools...

What makes me more furious about this is the simple fact that this has been done before...by other idiots...that apparently don't read.

Tasers are potentially lethal weapons, and there is training required (?) up our way for deployment of these weapons.

Don't the trainers actually train these police officers - or is it as simple as here's a taser, here's what it feels like, this is what it will do to a person, DON'T USE IT ON ANYTHING ELSE - because it won't work the same.

Geeeeeeeeeeeeez...I worked 30+ years without a taser, and in that time had 2 occassions where a taser MIGHT have been useful. Now the tools on the belt are being used by the tools under the hat without consideration.

Technology - dumbs down idiots and makes the smart ones smarter. :D

I had an uncle that was in intensive care for three weeks after zapping a 600# boar hog in the testicles with an electric cattle prod. Not nice to mess with Mother Nature.

I don't mean to laugh, your uncle obviously paid dearly for his err in judgment...but was that one of those "Here! Hold my beer and watch this!" moments? I can't imagine anything that would rile a critter more than that!

198 stitches. The boar sliced him from head to toe. His wife didn't find him in the hog lot until about 4 hours after this happened when he was late for supper. He almost bled to death.

Boars can be dangerous, especially when their on the "ball"

BTW, most cattle auctions I have been to, use cattle prods. Allot of the ones are "hard wired" (mucho hot) in the areas they use them allot like gates and chutes. I never liked it, but I guess they feel it speeds up their program.

I have protested once when my calves came through the sale and they where randomly "shocking them" p'd me off, since mine where so docile it wasn't necessary. I was surprised how many guy's in there defended me when the auctioneer told me to "relax". They didn't like it much either but it is routine and part of the business.

Dennis, that sounds like you were in Hubbard, TX. The boss had a hard wired prod and used it excessively. That's the only place I've seen a hard wired prod. And the boss and his employees just generally abused the animals. I went to auctions there a few times, even bought a donkey there once, but then I decided I didn't want anything do with those folks. The people at the auction in West, TX, treated the animals as they should be treated.
