Youæ±*e making a bold assumption that it worked on a 50 year old crane. I知 pretty sure it happened on the first trip to his house when he bought it.

The tip over video is dated 11-27-20

Andrew has a video with a notation saying, "My first time operating my new Pettibone 25 crane" dated 11-14-16. My link won't work the vido is titled "Lifting SUV With A Crane"

I can't guarantee it's the same crane but the crane is yellow in both videos.

Like everyone, Andrew makes his decisions and takes his chances. Some work out great, some don't. I just hope nobody gets hurt. What ever the case, he knows more about heavy equipment than I ever will and I intend to keep watching.

If it didn稚 have some sort of emergency brake to stop the machine when the engine stalled, it痴 likely because he bypassed the safeties. In that event, it wasn稚 an accident, it was stupidly.

That痴 the kind of guy he is.

I would not even come close to calling Andrew Camaratta stupid !!

I’ll stand by my statement. Petibone, or any other legitimate company hasn’t made a wheeled vehicle without an emergency brake in the last fifty years.

Furthermore, only a person lacking judgement would operate one without an emergency brake, especially in the terrain he was in.

If you want, I can stop by the Petibone factory in a couple of months. It’s thirty miles down the road.

That crane probably was 50 years old. And the emergency brakes probably didn’t work good even when they were new.
