By the way, I've learned a thing or two in this discussion. I've always had pets, not working animals. While it may have seemed like they were working when chasing squirrels and catching mice, they are nothing compared to an animal that earns its keep by keeping the place vermin free, helping the master hunt down dinner, or bringing in the cattle. It is good to hear from people that have different experiences in life than I have had and see things from their point of view. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I like squirrel hunting with Methos, but you forgot a HUGE one.

There is untold volumes to be said for a dog having the stamina to flat wear out a 5 year old boy before 7:00 in the evening, being able to watch a good PG-13 or R action or sci-fi flick on the television with the wife without scarring a 5 year old for life cuz he is out cold. Thanks to the dog, spongebob will have to wait till another day to grace our living room.
