Annoying safety feature

To run implements that require you to be off the seat such as a backhoe or log splitter, you pull the seat up in a quick motion and the motor stays running. At least that is how my 7800 works.

Ditto. If I turn the seat forward as I get up, it stays running and, at least on mine, I can then move the tractor forward or backward while standing next to it, by using the HST pedal w/ my hands. BTW, if you are going to do that, it's probably a good idea to be wearing steel toed boots. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yes, it kills the motor but only if I move the HST pedal. Everything else remains live and useable.

I installed a by-pass switch on mine so that I could run my PTO post driver. It is push on and off switch. If I need to use the driver, I just click it on and when I am done, I click it off. That way I still have full use of the safety switch.

on my b7800 I can get off the tractor and the tractor keeps running. This is only true if I'm in 'neutral'.

I didn't bypass the switch or anything. On flat ground I've found that I can tap the HST pedal real fast and get about a half inch of movement for each tap. The engine comes back fine after the short cutout, and the movement is small enough that I don't need the steel toes. I have not tried it on a hill, but I think it would work just fine. It's pretty easy in Florida to find a nice flat place to drop your implements.

I do the same thing hooking up implements. Leave the seat down, at idle with the brake set lightly. I can inch the tractor with the HST pedal.

I have been just putting pressure down on the seat with one hand and pushing a little on the HST pedal with the other, seems to work okay...

I use the already mentioned modification...zip tie, now it works just like my previous Kubota.
