If you can't can't find a carb. locally, let me know I have one. I will Sell for $50.00. It's used but does work ok.

Like I said try and locate one locally, but if you find yourself in a jam I will sell mine. I really don't like to sell parts to anyone it seems like it just don't work out

thanks for the offer, we will see,
I was as careful as I could be drilling out the broken tip, but with the old needle pushed in, I can spray wd40 in the power jet and a bit come up around the needle back into main body. Maybe enough to be ok, maybe enough to flood it even when closed tight... we shall see

oh yes, pulled it apart and the need tip was broken off with about 1/8 visible down in the bottom, could not pull or pry it out, ended up carefully drilling it out.

still probably destroyed the **** thing, 200 bucks down the drain I have a bad feeling (50 rebuild and now I have a feeling I need a 150 repalcement carb)

we shall see

rebuild kit with a new seat and needle is 35-50$

Re: another 8n that wont start. (now running)

Well finally got it running a bit ago, still needs a little carb adjustment, but hauls the wood trailer around the yard just fine... which has flat tires.... on to the next project.

Thanks for all the advice.

post back if you need carb adjust info

Is this carb adjust info correct ? I got it from another link on here.
Turn on the fuel valve feeding the carburetor and check for leaks, tighten as necessary. Put the engine throttle at idle and start the tractor. This may require more than one set of hands: adjust the idle mixture screw out until the idle starts to stumble, then turn the idle mixture screw in 1/2 turn. Set the idle speed screw to 400 rpm. Run the engine throttle up to max rpm and back out the power mixture screw until the engine just starts to lose power, then screw back in 1/2 turn.

that's a lil coars due to ech then saying blandly.. screw back in a half turn.

ideally.. you set idle around 400 rpm.. thei small idle needle is an air needle.. out to lean.. in to enrich. set for max rpms.. not smoothest idle. then rev engine up.. play with main needlle.. find where screwing it in makes engine falter.. then back out till you see black puffy smoke out the exhaust.. might gurgle a lil bit.. screw mack in till puffy exhaust is gone.. rev engine up and down a few times.. should rev good.. not slowly stumble up to speed lean.. or gurgle and gasp and puff black for being too rich.. once you get it where you can jazz the throttle up and down and it responds good and ain't making a black cloud.. leave it.

after 8-10 hours.. pull the plugs.. read em.. tan is good.. white ashy is lean.. black sooty is rich.. oily is pumping oil.. use an anti fouler.. and/.or higher heat range ( champion h12 or al437 is my rec )
