Check out this heavy duty brush cutter/saw.
Last week the electric company cleared their rightaway in the area where I live , now they had the bush cutter. My wife counted either ten or eleven blades on it. It hung down from a helicopter and he raised and lowered it as he followed the power line, man it was awsome to watch. Earlier in the morning before he got to my place we had a power outage for about two hours, made me think that he had maybe hit the power line and cut it into, or whether he was in an area that had too many wires branching off that they knocked the power while he got that area. The area in my yard that they cleared didn't have too much for them to cut down so I didn't have much brush my neighbour called and said that the power company wanted to know if they could pile the brush pile on one that I had already started , thinking that they were talking about what was on my side of the creek I told him to tell them yes. much to my surprise they drug the brush through the creek to my side , now I have the biggest pile of brush that I have ever seen. That goes to show that I should have gone down there and showed them what I was willng for them to pile up in my pile. They had a chipper truck on the same side of the creek that they drug the brush from and the brush was easy for them to get to.with their chipper truck, sometimes you can't do people a favor.

I have seen a video of the brush cutter from a helicopter. The one I saw had 4, 4 ft metal disk with about 12 blades per disk, and they just slowly flew down the tree line, trimming everything that it touched.

They probably cut the power to prevent accidents while the unit was working.

Yikes is right.
About two months ago, a chopper came by video taping the HT wires near us, pausing at each tower to video something, and then flying on. In 15-20mph breezes!
I thought they were nuts.
Then, two weeks ago, another crew came by.
They were washing the power lines.
There is a short video on You Tube of a group doing it in Prudhoe.

I thought that that was a mildly insane job.
And now this. Clearly, someone else is having way too much fun.
And here he is...

Like a bird on a wire

I've seen that "Bird on a Wire" before. That guy sure seems at peace with what he does. :)

I don't think so MR. Sounds like to me he is still "trying" to be free.

If he would place his trust in Jesus,
Christ said:

"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed."

But, what do I know.

Oophs!

Now that I think of it MR, I think you were referring to the guy climbing off the helicopter onto the wire.

I was referring to the second video of the guy sing the song.

I had opportunity to do the helicopter a number of years ago. I was a lineman for over 16 years, and a company out of florida was hiring. Something like 100k to 120k a year to start. Only problem was it was one month on, and one month off. I did not want to be away from my wife and child for six months out of the year, so turned it down.

Now for PT422 news. Mine has been in the shop for two weeks...but that is for another thread.

I have turned down many jobs that would pay more so I could stay home with my family. I wasn't looking for those jobs, either. I was head hunted. Family is much more important than money. Never regretted it. :D

I have not either MR. Not even once.

But I am starting to regret taking my PT to a shop! I am going to go down there and see if they are fixing it, or playing on it ;~)

Yeah. If all their landscaping chores are done and you gas tank is empty, I'd be suspicious! :D
