Now, remember that I have never actually seen a BX22...

As discussed in other posts, the BX23 has a different seat with a higher back, and a different hood latch. The seat certainly seems "plush." I have my seat adjusted all the way back to accomodate my long legs, and I do have to be careful, when raising the seat in order to turn it around to the BH position, not to bump the top of the seat back on the BH control levers.

Others have said that the headlights are different, and I can confirm that the BX23's headlights are quite bright. The BX23 does NOT have cruise control as some have speculated.

The FEL control valve is permanently attached to the tractor (well, until you unbolt it...), and I understand that the valve on the BX22 is attached to the loader frame. The locking function has been changed on the BX23 -- instead of the little plate that flips over and locks the control lever, there is a smaller lever protruding from the front of the control valve that can be switched between locked and unlocked positions. My dealer said that this was changed because the plate was prone to rattling.

From reading other posts, it is my understanding that the FEL control valve on the BX22 is what is referred to as a "3-way" and that the "4-way" valve is an option. The BX23 manual states that "The [FEL] control valve has two stage dump positions. The first 'Regenerative' dump position ... features high speed.... The second 'Regular' dump position ... features increased power ... when operating implements other than the loader.... These two positions are separated by a 'Feel' position...." At first I could not detect any such second dump position, and assumed this was still an option. I asked my dealer, and he said that he thought that was the case, as the 4-way valve was more expensive. Well, today, while clearing an access to an old pond on the back of the property, I must have pushed a little harder to the right while bouncing around on rough ground, and the lever popped into the second position. I think this means that the BX23 comes standard with the "4-way" control valve -- someone please correct me if I have my concepts mixed up here.

Also, the FEL control valve has a "float" position, which is accessed by pushing past the "down" position. I assume that the BX22 has this also, but I have never seen it mentioned before.

Sounds like it operates like my 4-way valve. Hey when we gonna see some pictures of this beauty of yours? Of course verbal descriptions are nice, pictures are nicer /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Welcome aboard and I'm sure your going to enjoy the heck out of that thing.

Thanks for the welcome! Well, I blew it -- I have read many times that it is important to take pix of the tractor when it arrives, as it will never be clean again, but I was too anxious to try it out. Actually, it isn't too bad except for the mud on the BH and FEL and floorboard.

When the dealer's guy came by to top up the transmission he asked me (laughing) if I had washed it after moving all that old hay. I had to admit that I had wiped it off a bit...

No digital camera here, but I do have a cheap scanner, so if I ever slow down long enough to take pix, I'll have to post some of them. In fact, it's cold but sunny today, sounds like a good project! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Of course it has a float position, yes, the BX2200/22 does. J

Bill,

Does your BX23 have the clear lenses in the headlights? The BX2200 series has diffused plastic lenses. I looked at a BX2230 in the crate and noticed the lenses are now clear plastic. I don't know that the bulbs have changed. It had cruise in place of the aux hydraulic slot, the high back seat, improved hood release and diff lock lever. Couldn't see too much else in the crate. Oh ya, new graphics too /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Later days,
Michael

Saw a BX23 last weekend. YES they do have the clear lenses for the headlight. The high seat on this model is similar to the seat on my B2410.
