I recently completed a grapple setup on my JD 4110. I purchased the grapple from Andy Tatro. I fabricated a mount to attach it to my bucket. I bought a Fasse diverter valve that came with a momentary switch that I mounted to my loader joystick. Special thanks go to kennyd whose setup I basically copied and who answered a lot of my questions. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Following are a series of pictures. Jason

The Fasse valve I used can actually be ordered through Deere. It is part # SW700-1592. As I mentioned, it comes with a switch and instructions. It costs about $310.

I mounted the switch on the joystick and zip tied the wires.

I had a lot of fun with this project. I've only used the grapple a little so far, but already I find it useful. BTY Fasse was a super company to deal with. I got technical advice with just a phone call and no wait. Their website appears to be under construction, but you can get some info here Fasse Valves

Great job Jason, I will be getting with you and Kenny in the spring when I get ready to that. First I want to get my power beyond set up with top n tilt and a valve for angling the rear blade. BTW just where does the fassevalve get its hydraulic flow from?

I just ran hoses from the tilt and curl (bucket) into the valve. Then there are four ports coming out. The hydraulics work normally unless the switch is depressed, then the flow is diverted to the new circuit. When the switch is released, everything returns to normal. BTY- Thanks for the compliment. Jason nice looking bucket grapple project. Once you've had a chance to use it you'll wonder how you ever got along without it. Plus you can easily remove it by popping a few pins, lifting off the cylinder then the grapple itself. Have fun!

Looks good, I can't wait to get one up and running.

Jason,

How long did it take you to install the hydraulic diverter valve set up and had you ever worked on hydraulics before?

Thanks

Ed

I couldn't even spell hydraulics before I started this project! I would guess I have about 6 hours in the valve and hose part of the project. The most time consuming part is deciding where to mount the valve, what to use for power, and figuring hose lengths needed. As far as hydraulic projects go, this is pretty simple because it hooks into your tractor system after the quick connects. The tractor doesn't even know it is there! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well, if you can jump in the deep end I suppose I have little excuse. My tractor is on an island so I really don't have the option of wimping out and taking it to the dealer if I screw up. Question is only how serious a risk I would take of incapacitating the poor thing through utter incompetence. Not a small factor to consider.

Very nice grapple setup. Looks like a factory install. As PineRidge said you will wonder how you ever got along with out it. The grapple has become the single most used implement after the mower.
Again, great job.

Nice info!
The fasse website shows several types of diverters including some with a fancy joystick setup.
Now to find a website that sells them... hmmm

Great job!

Thanks for the compliments everyone. As I mentioned before, I ordered my valve through my JD dealer. I'm not sure whether you can order them direct from Fasse or not. My valve was the "economy" version. Check out this thread jdgreg's valve for a more expensive version with a joystick.
