Started making a rock grapple last week. Almost done with the main working section, waiting on fittings.
The lower arms are going to be able to add extensions on either side for brush removal. They will have 3 1" diameter by 2" pins that will slip into ends of main lower arms, then just use a couple of bolts to retain them.I haven't decided on total width yet.
I made the whole thing kinda modular so it could be changed/upgraded or different lower attachments added that I have yet to think of.
Welded a chain hook on so I can lower forks/arms on ground with grapple closed, then use upper arm opening up mount 001.JPGmount 004.JPGgrapple 003.JPGgrapple 001 (2).JPG2 002.JPG2 005.JPGto uproot smaller trees & posts (that's the theory anyway).

Only problem with that theory is you have to get off and on the tractor, avoiding which is the reason some is us have grapples! I like the. Inception though and the concentration of force your narrow jaws will deliver. Cool!

Nice job! what did you use to cut the parts? Only thing I would question is perhaps as narrow as both forks are, while you are concentrating the clamping force, don't you lose the benefit of increased holding power a wider set would provide? The narrower the forks, the easier I would think a decent size rock could "spin out"
