Mark, your a salesman on a welding part of our forums, of course your going to spin your product. American made anything has foreign parts but engineering, quality control, and assembly are a big part of the overall quality of the machine. I'm all for inverter power sources. I love my Hypertherm Plama cutter and I just bought a new Lincoln TIG 200. Both work amazing and have great customer support. I don't know the first thing about your machines so I won't comment but I buy American for the reasons listed above.

Don't even get him started on Hypertherm. He got in a huge fight with a guy who worked at Hypertherm a couple of years ago, Jim Colt I believe. Mark absolutely spins his product on here while at the same time taking shots at the established brands. It gets old but there is a reason Miller and Lincolns dont' do this. Heck even the other manufacturer who advertises on this site doesn't pull these stunts like Mark does. He is in a class of his own.

Our manuals are up and have been. The pictures as I have said are what they are. This has been that way far too long, but the correct images have been up for the units when you click the picture and have been for 3 years. I've personally been updating the images as the photographer gets them to me. So far, all the stick units have been updated. And most of the TIG units. And some of the plasma units. A couple of the MIGs have been updated.

I haven't put any 140 units on special saying a new unit was coming that I can remember. Perhaps you have a link?

Share whatever you like.

What other manufacturer? Have you not noticed?

The OTHER manufacturer? would that be Longevity? I haven't seen their thread in a while... And one of the last posts was a TBN member whose welder died after being stored for a little while.

Wonder what the OP found out about the $425 IdealArc 300 300??

Couple members here bought Longevity StickWeld 250s. In no time at all the welders started losing power. I got to run one, had a really nice arc for 7018.

I read somewhere that a lot of Lincoln welders are made in Mexico.

A lot of everything is made in Mexico, soon all Fords will be also. Plenty of blame to go around on that one from unions to government regulations on manufacturing. It's not cost effective for anyone to really manufacture in the US in volume anymore.

When I was an apprentice I worked in a GM assembly plant. Installing mono-rail conveyor systems. I had to move a bunch of boxes in this one room, and sweep the floor to chalk our lines on the floor. There were several GM employees sleeping in the boxes. They got mad as he!! at me for waking them up.

You snooze, you lose. By the time I could get cell phone call out, it had already sold. ;(

ETA: What does one of these machines weigh? I'm hearing +600 lbs or more. What does the one that was listed the Ebay link weigh? anyone know?

This statement is absolutely not true. Most of the entry level Welders are made overseas but I know plenty of people who work at Miller's factories around Appleton WI.

OP, do you even need to TIG or know how? TIG is a process that has a high learning curve, and if you won't be using it it is hard to beat a transformer power source like the Hobart Stickmate LX for around $400. 235amp AC and upto 160amp DC. Selectable DC positive or negative.

Well. Go to a Welding Supply house and look at the brown cardboard boxes the welders come in. 115V - Engine Drive will say Assembled in USA. For a $20 bet I will send Pics. Unlike some on here, If I didn't know it to be true I wouldn't post it.. I've been to all of the once made in USA Factories many times and recently. Not Made in USA Hard to Swallow? Yep it is for me too but a Fact is a Fact.

I had a friend that worked at the Ford Oakville assembly plant. They used to use a hardened steel punch to stop the line, when they wanted to get sent home to watch a particular hockey game. It would take maintenance some time to find the punch.
