The machine with the backhoe attached came out in the high 16K and add on some taxes.
...I had anticipated JD being at least 2k more.
So if I want the 3 pt. hitch for the Kubota the difference is really around $700 I am guessing.
With all this being said, would you consider paying the extra for the John Deere?
Or do you think Kubota has a better quality machine?
Does anyone know what differences there might be?
Thanks again for the help you guys bring.
I had just recently gone through the experience of choosing between JD & Kubota. I ended up with the orange because of price and dealer service. Long story short, after all of my haggling, I got the BX25TLB (I think $200-$300 3 point, included) with canopy and rear work light in the low 16K. I bought out of State so there was no sales tax, I also got the $300 delivery charge waived.
I tested both BX25 and JD2305. After having the BX for almost 3 weeks now and a little over 35 hours seat time, I realize additional preferences orange over green:
1. $2000 price difference. JD attachments are more expensive.
2. BX has foldable rops. I like the wide and tall rops too.
3. Nice big gas tank hole, nice location.
4. Bright usable halogen head lights.
5. FEL hoses located in a vulnerable location, susceptible to damage.
6. Filters underneath the JD not in a good spot. I just don't like the clearances underneath the JD.
7. I really like the pedal on the BX much more than the JD. I thought I prefer the side by side but after using it for a bit I prefer the BX pedal.
8. There is talk about JD tail lights not so well positioned, you will bang em off or need to buy a protector for it.
9. My personal opinion, the BX backhoe has more power.
A couple of things could be designed a little better on the BX: the dash, digital tach numbers should be LARGERwith a separate hours meter.
I can't think of all of the things I like better about the BX but I will post it when I remember. It comes to mind when I'm in the seat.
Oh by the way, the dealer sent me a free can of orange paint and a nice collector series BX tractor model too because I asked.
