Muhommad,

Besides your interest in compact tractors, does this forum help you (IMC Digital Universe) with R&D, as well as an example of your work for clients? Is site development your main bussiness? Sure seems this would be proof of the abilities your company has.

Yes, we have shown TractorByNet.com as a sample in the past...

Help!!!

I think I've found the downside to the popularity of this fantastic site... I can't keep up /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

I really enjoy reading all the posts as there is usually something to learn no matter the "color" of tractor involved. I thought I was falling behind, but with 160 posts per day it's no wonder. Anyone else having similar problems? How do you deal with it? I've got to get more efficient, especially when spring and summer get here and I want to do some real tractoring.

Hopeless TBN addict,

Rob -

You speak of TBN addiction:

"<font color=blue>Anyone else having similar problems?</font color=blue>"

I've mentioned it before and the answer is still "yes". /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Like you, I hate to skip any posts in any forum 'cuz you just never know where the real pearls of wisdom are going to pop up. I know Muhammad is aware of our plight (in fact, he professes to be a victim himself) and is looking into ways to streamline the reading process.

He has already explained why it would not be practical, but I'm still holding out for a "Past 12 Hours" in flat mode, or an all-forums "Unread Messages", also in flat mode. It seems much of my time is spent opening windows, so my personal preference is to just open the one.

They say the squeaky wheel gets the grease, but I've been known to just throw them away, so offically I will take what I can get, Muhammad, old pal, old buddy. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Yep, Rob & Harv, in another month or so, when I have to start mowing the yard again, working the garden, etc. I don't know how I'm going to find time to keep up with the board. Either the last 12 hours in flat mode, or all "new" messages in flat mode would sure save time; and of course, I have no idea what doing that would entail.

I agree with you guys. That's what happened at the ford diesel site. It started out you could read all the messages for the day on each forum. Then it took off and there was no way to even keep up with one forum a day. I hated to but I quit reading over there because it was impossible to keep up with any of it.

You want to know what's really bad at my end? I'll share it with you anyway.

I pointed one of the guys who works for me at TractorbyNet just before Christmas.....he wants to get a Kubota sometime this Spring and I thought the board might help him out. Now, everytime I walk past his work area, guess what's sitting on the computer screeen. Yep, TBN. Since I experience a similar addicition, I haven't figured out how to tell him that even though TractorbyNet is important, he still has to do SOME work during the day.

It used to be pretty easy to keep up with the messages when it was just Kubota, but then the other brands were added and I LIKE it because I get to learn more. And we started putting in pictures and I LIKE that because it conveys more information than most of could with words. And then some of us started wandering far afield from tractor discussions (none worse than me, of course) and I LIKE that because it's both informative and entertaining. However, I suppose it may reach a point when Muhammad has to rein us in to save the original intent of the site./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
