It seems couple of people on the forum have used these grinders and like them. However, I am not sure what it would cost if you wanted to purchase one.

That was a Pawlonia in my front yard. I just ground up 2 at least 24" pine stumps down to about 10" below grade befor lunch.

I'm headed out to do some more I think (If it does not rain).

Can you dig out a good sized stump with just a Front End Loader?

Yes but you need to budget about 1 day per stump. (don't ask me how I know) Poor people have poor ways.

Yep that stumpgrinder is looking better all the time, Only downside to it is the price, and you have to have 2 rear remotes (good idea to have anyway) to run it for the up/down and the side to side motion. I dug out a small cedar stump today that took less than 30 minutes. it was probably 8 or 9 inches across, but a big one (like 2 foot) can take all day.

I did 2 Pine stumps, both more than 24", down 8" to 10" below grade, in less than an hour, and I'm a noob taking small swipes and moving the tractor too often, etc. :thumbsup:

This thing is a monster...

So do I and I am just as much a noob as your are.

I base my agreement on the fact that 'animal' acreage put in the Vermont Current Use program requires 1 'animal unit' (yes, that is the real term!) per 3 acres. 1 unit is a horse or bovine or 5 sheep or 5 goats. I presume you can mix and match

In any case, 1/2 acre might be enough for a flock of free range chickens or almost a whole goat or sheep. I suspect if you put a grazing animal on 1/2 acre it will never really be a good pasture because it will all be eaten down to nothingness every day or so.

I'm looking for a used mini Back/loader ..In my search I came across Earth Force ef300 and Ingersoll bl275 does anybody have any experience with either of these machines?
