Another out with the old and in with the new - but it was kind of sad this time

To be honest, when I saw the International on the truck in the picture, it made me kind of sad. :( I think it is perfectly natural. It is a bit like seeing a coworker let go. The International reminded me of a good an faithful 756 I used to use on one of the state farms. What is at the root of the sadness, which will soon pass, is past happiness. Or put another way, it is the end of a good thing.
Compare that to the happiness I (and I presume some of you as well) have experienced seeing something that tried your patience for years be hauled away. It is enough to make me dance a jig! The one moment of happiness is caused by an the end to a bad thing.

Aside from what has already been the stated differences is there something more specific you can put your finger on. Sorry for being such a pest on this but I do like my 3200, ie. power, size etc. and I can live quite nicely without the 3pt arms. I do understand your old girl friend analogy. I am looking for something I can put my finger on. Not having a 3030 available to try for a day it is hard to see the differences. One thing that swayed me to the 3200 was the loader control. Even with the remote cabbed control I liked the 3200 better but that is just one item.:confused2::)

Other than the new design features in that the B303 is more current technology, the B3200 would have been fine for me if it would have had position control and if the vibration issue was not a problem for my particular use. I do like the integrated remote hydraulic outlets better on the B3030 as well but here again that was the newer design. Leaves more room for work lights and makes for a cleaner look which is cosmetic but still nice. PTO engagement is smoother since it is live PTO and likewise smoother gear selector engagement since it is the newer model and improved. Likely a couple more things but can't think of them at the moment. As you can see, if the vibration and position control are not a concern for you, that tractor should be just fine. Hope this helps. :)

Last summer I replaced my 1960 Massey 35 I had had for 12 years by a JD 3520. I felt it was terribly sad, even a betrayal after so many years working together. I still haven't found the same team feeling with my new companion.
So I quite understand how you are feeling...

Betrayal was the word I was actually looking for - thanks for pointing that out. I remember a time before my wife and I got married that I drove into town with the IH and went to her house to visit. She thought it was pretty funny and her dad thought it was so cool to have that big tractor in his drive way. He had an appreciation for equipment having been raised on a farm himself. Haven't thought about that day for a long time until yesterday. Time to move on I guess.

Found myself actually quite sentimental today when I saw the two old tractors up on the truck and ready to head out. And to add mud in their face, we used the new loader tractor to load up the plow and snow blower behind them as well.

Found my self wondering if this was normal to feel this way - seemed kind of silly actually, they are just pieces of equipment, but I had put a lot of hours on both of them over the years. I was a teen when we had bought the cab tractor and drove it home from the dealer with that same plow that was loaded on. Just didn't make sense (or dollars) to keep them anymore - maintenance and parts. Both had done a good job with minimal problems till the last couple of years...(big sigh)

Anyone else ever feel this way or is it just me? Thanks for letting me relate and here are the pics.
I felt the same way as I loaded my B2150 for delivery, 10+ years of great service. But I'm sure I'll be quite happy with my new B3030 (when it gets here)

I know how you feel. Three and a half years ago I sold my first tractor for the Kubota. The new machine is a sweetheart but I really liked big 'ole Allis. It was a no nonsense machine that I had for many years and always served me well. You never forget your first.....tractor!
