On my TC40D, setting the parking brake has become a big chore. The teeth on the locking mechanism are worn and will not grab. I have to push the brake in far enough for the locking mechanism to sit on top of the brake lever, instead of locking in the teeth. Has anyone solved this problem? If so, did you have to order any new parts?

Definitely warranty. There was an old thread about the parking brake not holding.
Problem was twofold: toothed piece and brake pedal were on planes at obtuse angle and "male" part was kind of thick - wouldn't set into teeth.
Solution was to grind male piece to a sharper point and bend/twist toothed piece to be in the same plane as pedal motion. Someone posted a picture.
Actually, I think there was also something about the deck flexing too.

There are new replacement parts for this if someone is having a problem it is warrantied. Contact your service manager and tell him to look it up on assist if he does not know about it.
