Backhoe Another reason for a backhoe

While my wife and I are penurious, but we have an agreement either can spend $1000 withour asking/confering with the other. I do have a plus here though. We mainly use both our tractors for business, so I can usually justify it, as long as I can pay it off in 2 years. So far, I've been able to write off all my toys.

It's not that I normally have that much trouble with her. It's just that less than a year ago she dished out $20k cash for Clementine and all sorts of implements...then this year gave me my Christmas present (logging winch) early. So complaining at this point would be construed as bad form. /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif Oh how I loved making that last student loan payment!!!

pe•nu•ri•ous (pú-nÜry-ús, -nyÜr2-) adj. 1. Ungenerously or pettily unwilling to spend money.

I thought I was reasonably well educated when I joined this forum, but my vocabulary gets challenged (and hopefully expanded) almost daily here. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Just goes to show you -- tractor folks are a breed apart. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

My wife bought a house thru the sheriff's sale that needed a bunch of fixing. I told her I wasn't going to participate but she got it and when you get the money tied up you have to do something. All the way thru the project I got every dirty job that came along and I started teasing her about giving me all the sh*# work. The sewer line was working but not right so I tried to root it out. It didn't work so I called a plumber to come look at it. He wanted $1500 to replace it. It was a new PVC line so I didn't think it could be too bad so I decided to dig down where the blockage was. After digging a 15' by 2' trench 6 feet deep with a shovel i was able to break into the pipe and get the rotorooter to clean it out. My wife walked up while I was elbow deep in sewage wanting to know how it was going and when I finished explaining how easy it would have been with a backhoe she suggested I go get a backhoe for my tractor to make it easier. I guess the timing just has to be right (and you have to be really passionate). /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
