another ROPS light question

/ another ROPS light question #21
I've had work lights on the ROPs of my BX2200 for over 5 years. I went with an idea posted here at the time ("Work lights for a BX" posted by Charliebrn in 2001). Two floods, one front one back, bolted to a homemade bracket that surrounds the ROPs. No holes, no glue, easy to remove. Use an old bicycle tube between the bracket and the ROPs to lessen vibration and not scratch the paint.

This year I had the first problem with them. Blew the Stator fuse (20amp) while running both lights and the running lights. Since then I've been careful to run only one of the work lights at a time and not use the worthless running lights at all.

I too had to go over the top of the ROPs with the lights due to a big melon and sitting high in the seat. If I had to replace my lights this year I'd go with some of the smaller LEDs as discussed in the "Grote L.E.D. Lights" thread. I'd put them under the ROPs on each corner, one pointing front, one back on each side.

I mounted lights to the rops with trailer stake pockets from TSC. They are the perfect size for the job. Place a piece of pipe insulation foam under it and it squeezes right on, very snug. a Plate across the top and you even have holes to mount the lights, either over or under the Rops. See the pics in my signature to see exactly what I mean....
