I put my finishing mower on and mowed the yard and pasture. Then, as I was removing the 3 point hitch to install the backhoe on, (yes, in a hurry getting dark with some push mowing to do) I stood up FAST and WHAM!!! Felt like my wife hit me with an aluminum baseball bat after catching me with another woman!!:mad::mad: A lot of creative words left my mouth as my wife came running into the garage. If I had hit a sharp edge, I would surely be in the hospital with a bunch of stitches!! I have a flat property so leave it down 95% of the time and because of the garage door situation. But I do take it off property to a friend痴 house and it is REQUIRED on his property. I have creased my skull numerous times, but this one was worth everyone getting a chuckle out of. Now that it is morning (head still sore) I can report this with some laughter!!

Ouch! From a safety point of view I would NEVER, I repete NEVER operate my tractor without the ROPS up and seat belt on. It only takes a second and you will have bigger problems than banging your head ... you could be dead!

Oh I hate those dang things. I walked right into mine and busted my nose. Mine is angled to a point that if you drive under a low branch it will grab it and drag it right down on the back of you head. I know they are for protection but the top of mine came off. One day I'll get a top built that is shorter and straighter. And yes I did hit the garage door a couple of times too.

James I hadn't heard you bought a house for your tractor. When did I you get that?

Jeff, I do plan on a 3rd bay to my garage with a bigger garage door!! I want to be able to pull bigger things into the garage (horse trailer) if needed. I will park the Bota in that side!

Well I have been working on the rock pad for months.. Thats where all of those hours got racked up on the ole Kioti...and then we had Carolina Carports come by about a month ago, and 3 Spanish speaking guys popped that up in a very hot afternoon.

How is it anchored to the ground, and how much did it cost? That looks like a great alternative to a pole barn for a lot of things.

Well it looks good. I'm sure you will find more to put in it other than the orange beast!!!

I have an 8' door on my barn, so I never think about the ROPS.

Last week, I decided to put my tractor in my garage, (7' door), so I could do some work on the barn. I was backing it into the garage, and I nearly forgot to lower the ROPS.

Probably the main reason I remembered at the last second, is all the posts I read on TBN by those who did not.

I though to myself, that I see how this happens.

Building $3200, 12 foot wide by 26 foot long x 10 foot sidewalls . 2 windows $300 extra. Garage door 10 foot wide by 9 foot high $800 . All prices installed. It is staked to the ground with multiple pieces of re-bar with a nut welded on the top end. They will build on footers or slab if you have such. I looked at one on the sales lot, that had been there over 10 years with just the re-bar staking and it hadn't blown away yet. And that includes a couple of nearby tornadoes.

Just wear a football helmet whenever you go into the danger zone!

Yeah it will sneek up on you. My little tractor would go in the garage with no problem. But this newer tractor has a lot taller FEL and I smacked the side of the house twice. Luckily it was tall enough to just hit the wood frameworks and not the door itself. Only made a mark in the paint as it. I'm sure there are lots of stories about people hitting their heads and running into low objects.

I'm going to keep that in mind, I've been using 12x20 tents that last about 5 years but it's starting to look like a flea market out back. Nice thing about your setup is it's also not taxable because it's not a permanent structure. If I built a pole barn that size it would probably add $300/year to my property taxes.

A new TBN motto "bang your head or you could be dead".
