Came to a different conclusion recently. I have a 5 acre place in Nevada and a few years back, bought a 970 TLB CUT, not nearly as small as others talk about here. Recently, health problems have forced me to down-size to a 1 acre place. Talking to my 2 local dealers, one a JD the other a Kubota dealer, both agree that with the backhoe and all of the implements both think my tractor should sell quickly for about $20K. The trouble is that a smaller replacement will start at $23K. ( green or orange ) I was going to sell off the deere and buy something smaller, now I have to ask why go smaller and have to pay more, and still have to buy the proper sized 3 point tools again ?? And I guess that leads me to suggest that you might step up some in size used and get a much better deal used than you would ever get on a SCUT new. Cost of a new SCUT per lb. will be much more than a used CUT that includes the toys to go with it. Just something else to consider. My wife would much rather spend the difference on vacation.
