I have been trying to think of a way to get my wife to agree to letting me rent a dozer let alone buy one.

Now that I think about it....dont post a picture. I am sure I will just end up with a bad case of Dozer envy. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I thought I should mention that not only does this thing start up fast and run smooth but also has every gauge and light in perfect working order. I've already played with angling the blade left and right and that works perfectly as do the hydraulics. Now all I have left to check is the tilting of the blade which, given the way everything else is, I'm sure works fine, too.

All in all, I'm very happy with it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's a nice sized little dozer, Gary. With it in such good shape, you should be able to get lots of jobs done and then sell it with no loss if that's what you choose to do. Don't be surprised if you aren't suddenly everyone's best friend. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Neat!!

Is that one of the dual fuel ones? starts on gas and runs on diesel...

Nope. She's all diesel all the time. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If I remember correctly that technology was employed on larger equipment with a gasoline engine being started conventionally and then that engine was used to start the diesel. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

A year or two ago the wife and I jumped on a plane for Fort Wayne, In. and bought a truck from Gary. Hey Gary, how long do you think it would take to drive that dozer from Indiana to Georgia? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

You are correct in all other brands. Cat etc... IH had a "better" idea on their early crawlers. The engine started on gas until it warmed a bit and then switched to diesel. Thus, it had two complete fuel systems. These units were plagued with fuel system problems, one or the other, and cracking heads. Also, one had to remember to switch back to gas or the machine wouldn't start the next time without work.

Obviously, the technology didn't continue but it was a neat concept.
