Tiller Another tiller vs. harrow question

/ Another tiller vs. harrow question #11
Kuhn builds one of the best tillers I've seen for the job they do as well as construction of a machine. When you slide the hitch to offset they also move the gearbox to help keep the driveline straight.

Another idea is to go with what you got, assuming you have some tillage tools.

Where I grew up (Great soil), all we had was a JD tractor and a spring shank chisel plow. I put sweeps on the chisel and used it to do "tilling" of the soil. Two passes broke it loose well, then wait a week. Then two more passes, wait a week. By the third week, two passes made it NICE.

They call it trash farming here when growing wheat, but it will work for grass and other things.

If you have more time and less money (for a tiller), things like this will work.

Every year I used to disc harrow our pumpkin patch. The man who cuts our hay offered to let me use his tiller; he never uses it anymore, etc. I used it yesterday and I have to say the pumpkin patch has NEVER looked better! I could have used the disc 100 times and not gotten as nice of a result!

Now I just need to convince my friend to sell it to me...

AND if he is willing to sell it and you do not want to buy it let me know!

100 dollars for a tiller. It's safe to say you got a deal.
