While it's nice to have a shed to keep your equipment in, mine has spent many years outside on a farm with no buildings. The 20 plus year old 2120 still starts on the first crank.

When your baler or tractor burns outside, it doesn't take a barn and all the other equipment with it. There's always lots of debate on this subject.
