Another use for ratchet straps

It is much easier and quicker to pop the bead on the rim if you remove the valve stem, add air until the bead locks itself onto the rim, and then re-install the valve stem. Then you can inflate the tire to its proper psi.

That’s useless if the bead is off the rim and won’t seal which was the point of the ratchet strap. The other options are a bead blaster or starting fluid but the ratchet strap is cheap and non violent.

Great idea. If you can, lift the implement off the ground with a jack so the inflated tire will not touch the ground while filling it.

The tire is off the rim in the video. What he does with the starting fluid may be illegal. In the olden times tire repairmen often smoked as they worked, breaking the tire bead with flammable gas inside causes serious injury.

Maybe I wasn,t clear enough in my explanation. You still use the strap in the middle of the tire, and then follow the rest of the instructions. Xfaxman added some great info as well.
Does that make more sense now ?
