Another what's this worth question

I bought a really nice used Ford bushhog for $300, and that was back before the economy went to pot. I'd look for something in good used condition used and bargain. This thing looks like every part of it is bent. The drawpins look like they're bent, actually the whole support frame looks bent. The tail wheel support looks bent. The frame area under the gearbox looks like it's pushed down, sort of like it's been oil-canned. Maybe some of this is an optical illusion due to parallax in the photo. I wouldn't pay $80 for it unless you're looking for a hobby fixing it up.

Bird thanks for the reply. I haven't see any like that before, just the ones like I said before, so I thought I'll bring it up. All of my stuff have a clutch.

I'd buy it just for the gauge wheel.. The rest I'd take the recycle center.

Just as well. . . . What caught my eye was the oily top of the gearbox. I have lots of gearboxes, but none with oily tops. That indicates to me that they are adding/spilling oil on top of the gearbox as they add oil, probably everytime it is used due to a leaking seal. Heck! I wish you were closer. I have a lot better looking KK 5' cutter I'd sell you for $200 and you wouldn't even have to bid on it. Mine needs a tailwheel axle bolt and it's good to go. If I go to the trouble to fix it, I'll probably put it in the local "shopper" magazine for $250. . . or maybe $300 and come down so the buyer thinks they got a good deal.

Let's see if you are following one of the other threads about putting tractor motors in cars or trucks and I got about 50 miles per gallon. Driving round trip to Texas would take me about 80 gallons? Maybe I will keep looking locally. My 1988 Chevy get's about 7 miles to the gallon and the 2006 Dodge Hemi is getting about 14.
Like you when I try to sell some items online I might bring up the price a bit. Then let the buyer talk me down. We both feel better about the deal that way.

By golly, I think you are right. The water beading up kinda threw me off. I still don't think you lost much by not winning the bid. Too darn bad you aren't closer.
