yeah, He has already investigated the hunting there. He will hunt anything that moves ! lol
I don't know if that hospital will offer him a job when his time is up or not. I would like for him to be back home, But I understand if he has better opportunities there.

I called a couple of contacts I had about an F17 grill, and my contacts say the grills on the tractors they have are busted.
Sorry

Man I appreciate it. I am going to at least pop rivet something together today. I bent a little sheet metal but my cheapo wire welder crapped out. At least it will protect it from limbs. Thanks for your help. I am sure St. B will offer him a job. I believe they are or were the largest employer in our county for a long time. Not sure where home is for you but at least we are centrally located and Memphis airport is only an hour away.

I called a couple of salvage yards I knew about. They stated those grills are plastic and all of their's were busted. I guess no one is having them reproduced.

I'm in Alabama

St. B. has a large presents there. Out patient clinics, rehab, diagnostic center, among other facilities there.

Good luck on your grill project

Aaron (hoye) once wrote that when he was first starting out, he would make molds to pour his own replica plastic grilles - or something like that.

Hey Aaron - got any advice?

Well I did assemble something of a grill.

Not real pretty but functional. Might trim wire around the new replacement headlights but it works. I don't plan on getting too deep into anything with this tractor so not too concerned but I think it will keep a limb out of radiator if needed. I use my Kubota with front end loader if I need to get into anything messy.

Looks good to me!! Great as a matter of fact and the only thing I could think of is how easy to remove it. Cleaning Etc.. Pretty heavy duty so that's another plus in case it hits something.........

Thanks

Really not hard to take off. I used the existing mounting tabs, bent the two upper so they faced sideways, used some of those larger threaded clips-like the old school car stereo mounting clips just larger. Four screws hold it on. It is only 26g sheet metal but it has two bends so strong enough and not too heavy.

Wow looks pretty darn good to me too. I just purchased a new to me f17d and it has a big factory decal on the engine side covers that say F17D on them. Also from my research the engine output is rated at 21hp and 17 hp to the PTO.
I have only had mine a few days but from my limited experience this little tractor is a work horse. Mine came with a new loader and box scraper. Hope we can share some experiences going forward.

Yep the 17 gives away the pto HP. Yanmars and most Grey market japanese tractors are named after PTO HP. Like i have a ym2000 its 20hp at PTO and a ym2210 is 22 HP at pto the last 2 numbers in ym desegnate the series. Like power shift and different years of powershift, and upgraded models like a ym2001

I like the looks of that grill! I agree with Carey, it looks well built. Want to make one for me? LOL
