A friend of mine recently bought a 1919 International and a 1930 International. Both trucks will need minimal work to get them running. He doesn't plan on doing a full restoration on either truck, just enough to get them running and reliable enough to drive around shows or parades.

I have some newer trucks, a '56 White WC22PLT and a '59 White 4400TD. My Dad drove the '59 when it was new and put over 900,000 miles on it before it was traded in. I've owned it for six years now. The '56 is a copy of the first truck he drove.

Good Evenin Jesse,
Beautiful pics, I remember the restore you did a whil back and really enjoyed that thread ! :)

I still love driving trucks, I do some part time oil delivery for a local company, they have two new Peterbuilts, and they are a joy to drive !

A good friend of mine is finishing a restore on a 57 Mack , will post some shots when I can !

Thanks !

Neat stuff. Thanks for posting. I really like that 1919. Had a friend of a friend years ago restore a 50's something GMC stakebed. Said it rode so rough that if he tried to haul anything it would shake off the flatbed.

Nice ole trucks! My dad would sure love one of them. Always a feud in the family because he was a truck guy and I like the tractors and machines!

Some friends recently restored a '60 B61 Mack. They've restored several tractors and this was their first truck.

I LOVE looking at those old Macks!! My cousin had a garbage business back in Louisville that he started in the middle 50's and he ran Macks the whole time he was in business. It was always the biggest treat to get to go with him on some runs to pick some stuff up. Riding in that truck and feeling all that power was incredible to a young kid. My favorite one of his was the old green '63 models he had. In later years he had his new trucks painted up in Red, White & Blue stripes and they were some sharp looking trucks. I wish I had some pictures of those old trucks...

Hey Martian Tractor Man, your dad must have had some influence. It doesn't look like a tractor in your picture on this thread and (cough) it doesn't look like my pick up either!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha, some may call it a 3500 on steroids!

It is a fun truck though. 4500 Dmax with an Ally transmission. Very reliable. I was really sad/surprised when they got discontinued.

I recall the first time I saw one like yours, was wondering "WTF IS THAT" I was driving my work truck near Ionia, Mi. and one like yours came uphill toward me near the prison. Didn't know at the time if it was a factory job or somebody's custom. Think that was back in 2001 or 2002?

They are a sight to see, they're as big as some of these trucks with big lift kits but they look really clean as the wheels don't overpower the size of the truck. You should see the looks and thumbs up I get when I tow my radio flyer behind it!

What I really want now is an International CXT. It's even bigger! I'd have to jack the bed up though. I don't like how it's lined up like 2 feet too low.

I think your truck looks much tougher and attractive than the jacked-up lifted models. Loved the picture, I was thinking of a little toy wagon...

I took this pic while I was waiting for our local Christmas parade to get started. This is also how I get both trucks to the tractor shows I attend.

I have a third White I've barely started on. It's a '51 WC22PLT with a very rare Jumbo cab that was only built in '51 and '52. I intend to remove the cab for repairs to the windshield frame and driver's door hinge. I also need to pull the engine for either a rebuild or replacement since it's stuck.

Looks pretty solid...might be a stupid question, but is the sheet metal on those older commercial trucks a heavier gauge than what was used on cars and light trucks of the same vintage?

I learned to drive truck in a 59 white 4400TD. I put many miles in the cab ate and slept there also. Thanks for the memories.

Over here in the UK it was, so I'd guess it was the same for America.

It's definately a heavier gauge sheet metal. The fenders on both trucks had to be worked over, rusted areas cut out and new metal welded in, dents beat out. The workers at the body shop said they were actually enjoying working on them because they were made out of STEEL and not fiberglass and plastic.
