Hey Martian Tractor Man, your dad must have had some influence. It doesn't look like a tractor in your picture on this thread and (cough) it doesn't look like my pick up either!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha, some may call it a 3500 on steroids!

It is a fun truck though. 4500 Dmax with an Ally transmission. Very reliable. I was really sad/surprised when they got discontinued.

I recall the first time I saw one like yours, was wondering "WTF IS THAT" I was driving my work truck near Ionia, Mi. and one like yours came uphill toward me near the prison. Didn't know at the time if it was a factory job or somebody's custom. Think that was back in 2001 or 2002?

They are a sight to see, they're as big as some of these trucks with big lift kits but they look really clean as the wheels don't overpower the size of the truck. You should see the looks and thumbs up I get when I tow my radio flyer behind it!

What I really want now is an International CXT. It's even bigger! I'd have to jack the bed up though. I don't like how it's lined up like 2 feet too low.

I think your truck looks much tougher and attractive than the jacked-up lifted models. Loved the picture, I was thinking of a little toy wagon...

I took this pic while I was waiting for our local Christmas parade to get started. This is also how I get both trucks to the tractor shows I attend.

I have a third White I've barely started on. It's a '51 WC22PLT with a very rare Jumbo cab that was only built in '51 and '52. I intend to remove the cab for repairs to the windshield frame and driver's door hinge. I also need to pull the engine for either a rebuild or replacement since it's stuck.

Looks pretty solid...might be a stupid question, but is the sheet metal on those older commercial trucks a heavier gauge than what was used on cars and light trucks of the same vintage?

I have some newer trucks, a '56 White WC22PLT and a '59 White 4400TD. My Dad drove the '59 when it was new and put over 900,000 miles on it before it was traded in. I've owned it for six years now. The '56 is a copy of the first truck he drove.

I learned to drive truck in a 59 white 4400TD. I put many miles in the cab ate and slept there also. Thanks for the memories.

Over here in the UK it was, so I'd guess it was the same for America.

It's definately a heavier gauge sheet metal. The fenders on both trucks had to be worked over, rusted areas cut out and new metal welded in, dents beat out. The workers at the body shop said they were actually enjoying working on them because they were made out of STEEL and not fiberglass and plastic.
