Not addressed to anybody, rather, everybody - Guys lighten up. It is pointless to debate here when we all are here to learn something. Let's get back to talking about our Yanmars.

Well I have a good buddy that wants a 1610d real bad and I dont blame him that is a sweet little machine. I would love to have one too at the house so I am not wagging tractors down the hiway all the time.

However he wont buy from the place I bought mine from he was there the day I tore mine down and knows my story first hand inside and out and all over $200 worth of parts and 1 followup phone call not made cost them at least 1 $8000 sale sorry bout that oops I know of another bigger sale they missed also. ;)

He is now seriously contemplating a VN over a US refurb and I dont blame him one bit I can fix anything that goes wrong with it and he wont feel ashamed over it either thats a guarantee. :D

CD, Like we have said not all VN's are bad, there quality control seems to be an issue. It also seems to be an issue with the place you got yours and i think that they treated your situation wrong and glad your letting us and others know about it this is what helps us all. Winston had the same situation similar to yours with his VN he had to pay to rebuild it i think once, or maybe just a head?

I have a VN and like scotty was a little ashamed but felt that i could myself or pay someone to do some work if need be and come out even in worst case or a little more money. But if i had a little to no problems i would be ahead. After all i wanted a tractor i could work for cheap and was compact but still towable. Yes i could have bought used and saved a grand or 2 but i still wanted that warrenty. After all a used tractor is still used no matter who rebuilt it and anything can go wrong. So i bought from a dealer (well it was still used as its a 30 yr old tractor) and basically worked it hard that first few months hoping anything would show its head. I found the 3pt valve had a bad oring or something a bad voltage regulator and bad radiator. I think i paid like $80 for labor to fix the valve as they swapped the whole 3pt off another tractor, they replaced the voltage regulator and after a bad used replacement or 2 they finally sent me a brand new radiator. Yea this was a hassle, but i think i came out a head knock on wood. Even if i bought the parts myself i think i still would have come out a head at some of the prices i have seen. Allthough here last year i saw spalding was advertising my same tractor for the same price i paid and thier was a fredrics. Maybe a sign of the economy?

I will let my buddy speak for himself how he feels about what he buys UTDA or VN.

IMHO he could get bit either way but the economy is definitely the issue rather than just buying UTDA rebuilt over a VN 3 grand will go a long ways.

edit: Dawned on me maybe I dont type as well as I mean to speak :) so I wasn't saying owning a VN was anything to be ashamed of clemson so I hope you or nobody took it that way ok 3 grand is something I will boast about! ;)

Thats what im saying im glad i saved the money, but i was browsing CL say 6 months or so ago... and Spalding tractor in Ga sells Fredricks UTDA tractors he is steve who everyone talks about. He hasent been here in a while but i on CL i saw one of his ym2000 no loader for $4300 with his 1 yr warenty. Thats just a $100 over what i gave for a vn tractor. Mine had the ROPS which i beleive his may or may not have had i cant remember. I would have paid $3900 without ROPS but i got it for the $300.

$4300 for a YM2000 w/ a 1-year warranty? That's a great deal, especially for someone who wants the extra piece of mind of a warranty. BTW, if it's a UTDA tractor, it must have a ROPS.

Yep your right so i guess it did. Im gonna look on CL right now.

Well this is all i could find
24HP USA REFURFISHED YANMAR 1 YEAR WARRANTY UTDA CERTIFIED W/GUAGES

No its not mine nor do i even know where this is. It may be that new guy who posted on here a cpl weeks back? But its $4895. For the UTDA and 1 yr warrenty, and this is a ym2000b. So the difference i think is the $500 from the normal 2000 to the 2000b.

I had a v/n importer in my store last week. He asked me the same price for his tractors
that I am paying for my UTDA tractors plus shipping from V/N. Well I Thanked him for taking the time to stop by.Now I am not saying all V/N importers ask the same price he
was, but he offered no warranty and no parts in the US.I want to thank everyone for the
kind words and referrals over the years,I have been very blessed.
Thanks again
Steve

There is is only a 200.00 difference between 2000 and 2000B,The rest is a price increase
to compensate for the falling dollar
