Unlike Montana, Farmtrac etc who go to a manufacturer of tractors and make a deal to buy a certain amount of tractors from them and sell them under a rebadge name, LS has been making tractors for years starting with a deal with New Holland using thier technology. Look up their history on their website. I dont think you will see them going anywhere with the LS brand. Many of the tractors made by Japanese companies for the big 3 USA brands were not able to get parts 10 years after selling because the Japanese company didnt make the tractor after their deals expired.

I went to the LS web site (the Korean site) for some of the history of LS. I didn't realize that LS had been making small tractors for CNH in different countries prior to making them for the US market. I also had heard that CNH was making larger size tractors for LS but that was the first time that I had ever seen it offically in writing. The site has some pretty good reading I just wish it had more, specifically just on their long history of tractor building and the different lables they have sold their tractors too. You had mentioned that LS had an deal with NH to use there technology where did you get that information from, was that when they were doing the farmtrac tractors they always did look like the NH units but I thought some of those were made in india, like the 555 there are 4 of those for sale on ebay right now, those were the first ones that really cought my eye. I am really interested in this I had done lots of research before I bought my montana but there is so much more to know. Now your 7010 that would be considdered a mid-sized tractor right, was that manufactured by LS and for the large size tractors sold in the US by LS would they acturally be manufactured by NH?

that was in their website a couple years back. I havent looked lately to see if it is still therebut accordingly when they wanted to get into making tractors, they went to Fiat (NH parent company)for epertise and used the NH technology to begin building.

As far as I know, NH nor Case makes any tractors for LS. LS make them for NH and Case & other brands. The largest LS model is the 7030 which is basically the same tractor frame -motor- etc as the 7010 just adding some power via turbo and air intake intercooler and probably turning up the injector pump to put more fuel to supply the turbo. I think the 7030 is available with power shift transmission. I had a Yanmar with powershift and it is sweet

They seem to have linked to several tractor manufacturers, mitsubishi, NH, Yamanar, Hyundi its like the best of both worlds or many worlds.

I think we kinda hijacked Deb's thread. Sorry.
I'll put my 2 cents worth in on the "lowly LS tractor line". I've done quite a bit of browsing on this forum, since I joined a few months ago. I have noticed that if you look on the "owning /operating" threads of Kubota, Deere, Mahindra, you'll notice a number of problems being discussed. Now, granted, I'm sure there are many more of "them" than us; but I haven't noticed any real issues on the LS thread outside of the PTO issue that one member had. I see numerous issues on the other threads, such as fluid leaks, starting problems, metal in the oil of Kubota B's. And these are new machines. I believe most all of the newer machines are well built equipment, and most will have some minor issues in their lifetime, but if maintained properly, all will be well worth the money spent.

I chose the LS Tractor over the others, because I got as good if not better warranty, standard features that would have been options on others, more horsepower in a size frame that fits my needs, and at a price that I felt was a great value for the money spent. Not to mention a good dealer [Stringfellow Equipment Co.]

And by the way, who else thinks we need to move up the forum ladder, and get our own Buying / Pricing, and Owning / Operating categories????..............Mr. Administrator ???

Opps, I posted this on the wrong thread. It was meant to be a reply to the comments on people talking down on the LS tractors.

I have been looking at the LS U5020C for couple months. Test drove one a couple weeks ago, and was impressed. I agree that value for dollar, they look pretty good. Wish they would finance like Kubota(0% for 60mo). Still not ready to buy myself, but was impressed with LS.

When I bought my 7010, they had 0% for 24 months so that is what I took. I think I have one more payment for Sept and its all mine. Of course 0 for 60 months would be nice for most folks but I wanted to pay mine off around retirement time so that option was good for me.

Gary, I think the 24 months could work for me too. Was that an LS incentive, or was it provided by your lcoal dealer. I live in Alaska and accorfing to ther dealer, there are no local lending institutions that will loan on a tractor. He uses Wells Fargo in Iowa (I think) to finance his customers.
