I don't know much about RC but could you take over control with your own transmitter or simply tape "up elevator" to the on position so that when the drone got in your area it would be overpowered by your signal.

That's a good question. I believe the earlier versions of the military drones had no encryption so maybe they could be compromised that way. With the RC multimotor crafts ones i've seen. There are a number of people with similar type radio controlled crafts and they don't seem to have problems with that. If i understand it correctly, they are multi frequency and are bound to a specific transmitter, but i don't know if they exchange a unique identifier between them like say a bluetooth device might.
