Any problems ordering from Amazon?

I haven't bought any refurbished items on Amazon yet, but I sure agree about the refurbished products in general being a good deal. I've bought a refurbished Mantis tiller, a Waring Pro food slicer, a KitchenAid mixer, and I don't know what else and have never had a complaint with a refurbished item.

They probably get better scrutiny than new items.

Edit; refurbished goods absolutely get more scrutiny than new stuff. Most new stuff gets exactly zero before packaging.

On the TurboTax, I have had to use the Home/Business version for a long time due to the Farm and because of other half works out of the house. I also have a LOT of stocks thru Scottrade (now requires the premium or Home/Office-Business version where as stocks dividends used to be in the deluxe ver. For those of you who traded from TT to HR Block software how was the switch year.? Did you import from other software or off/on-line>>?? On TT I can import my taxes and info from Scottrade (on-line broker) with out much problems however I have found a good number of cost basis issues in doing so (MUST go thru and confirm ALL the costs to make sure your profit/loss revenue is correct.) On many cases you get account maintenance fees from offshore companies so I make sure those FEES are included in my cost basis so I'm not paying taxes on fees I had to pay.

On the refurbished side of stuff I have found the factory refurbished items usually preform better than stock out of the box new ones. Main reason is that things like mowers or weed eaters are built and shipped with most never being tested or ran. The factory refurbished stuff is tested, ran and adjusted by people doing it hundreds of times a day for a living so the chance of getting something that runs BETTER than stock non-tested device is pretty good. The same for electronic stuff the parts are fixed and fine tuned to preform better than the stick it together without a full system performance testing being done, just box and ship it off the line.

I never had a problem with Amazon though I usually buy new not refurb. I never had a problem with Ebay until this summer when I bought a set of three blades for one of my mowers. The listing said something like two or three sets available. I paid the asking price rather than bid because I needed them. Then I get a message saying that they are back ordered from the manufacturer? I PM'd the seller expressing my displeasurer (but kept my cool). The blades came perhaps two or three weeks later. Get this, the seller posted that people usually provide feedback after a sale? If I don't have anything good to say, I tend not to say anything and I never did.

I've always received what I ordered from amazon. Only a few times have I purchased 3rd party. I alwats group up enough stuff for free shippping for non-prime.

As far as ebay goes I've always done pretty well. I like to buy tools on ebay that are new but old stock. If the packaging is a little stained or isn't the current packaging the price is much better. Also sometimes the only place you can buy USA made tools is ebay or garage sales. Make sure to always submit an offer if the auction is set up that way. I always try to offer a low price and sometimes they take it. Other times they may send a counteroffer.

When I'm biilding toolsets over time I'm generally filling them from ebay.

The seller wouldn't reply to my email so I called amazon & told them what was going on and they refunded my money the next day.

Had a problem one time with a vendor. I complained to Amazon & they fixed the problem, made sure I got a refund.

First time I ordered from Amazon I placed the order at 10:30 at night and received the book the next day. I was impressed.

I've probably ordered 25 items from Amazon and had only that one problem.
