Any problems ordering from Amazon?

Here is an example. I ordered a new battery for my phone from a 3rd party seller. Came as described and works great inside, but it dies real fast when its someplace cold (like when outside at 20F). That doesn't work for me as I am frequently outside for work when its cold out. Contacted the seller and they sent me a refund right away. No hassles, no problems.
I have had similar issues on ebay and would have had to fight to get a refund there.

I have had the weak battery syndrome too and tested voltage and found it above listed value. What is wrong with it???

If I go outside with it on my belt when its 20F, it will go from 65% to dead (shutting the phone off) in 2 hours
If I stay inside, 65% will last for about 8 hours.

I use Amazon a little and have had good experiences for the most part. One time I got the wrong parcel but returned it cost free and got the right stuff a little later.

The last experience was a little strange. Yesterday I got a call from Amazon.com (I use Amazon.ca) and asked to verify a purchase on my account for some kitchen wares that totaled $300. I said "No not me" and the lady said no problem they won't put the charge through but I should contact my credit card company and cancel my card. Which I immediately did. There were no other purchases attempted on my card so the credit card company thought that someone got access to my Amazon account. How? Anyways I now have to wait for a week to get a new credit card and I have changed my Amazon account too. What a crazy world we live in.

I like Amazon. I got pretty fed up with Ebay, I never sold there, but I always felt that the Paypal setup was crappy. We have prime, and buy a couple hundred a month there.

Yea usually if fulfilled by Amazon is a competitive choice it will most often be the one I will use. You really have to read between the lines sometimes. I bought a cordless power tool at what a looked to be a great price turned out be a reconditioned unit (they are marked and serialized) but that wasn't stated at all in the description. I got hex shank nut drivers too that only lock correctly into my hex drive screwdrivers but none of my impact drivers. :confused3:

I had a great experience buying a refurbished Yamaha home theater receiver from amazon - saved almost half off of the new price on the receiver that was still being offered new . When it arrived i could find no evidence of any kind that it was not brand new. i will say that it was a Factory refurb and do think that makes a difference.
I finally bit the bullet and became a Prime member and it has already paid for itself in shipping savings.

I also wholeheartedly agree that a person needs to read the descriptions very carefully

I have paypal, but I refuse to link it to my bank account and their limits for people who don't link their accounts are silly.

My recon tool was similar in nature there was not a scratch on it and the only reason I even knew its was a Recon besides having no factory box was the serialization code (the CPO Milwaukee website fully explains the markings)

Purchasing something that has been relisted as a Recon can be a seriously good deal these days. Most especially right after the Holidays there seems to be a huge influx in the available advertised inventory. Not to say there aren't factory failures that have been fixed and replaced but real lot of it seems are just refund returns for whatever reason a customer sent it back (most places are pretty lenient with their return policies) and not really a product failure. But then it can no longer be sold again as new. Even the big Orange box store is getting into that game online now I see. At a place like CPO that deal in factory recon tools and equipment all the time always has and moves a lot of manufacture's returns and does have many very satisfied customers from their feedback reviews.

I haven't bought any refurbished items on Amazon yet, but I sure agree about the refurbished products in general being a good deal. I've bought a refurbished Mantis tiller, a Waring Pro food slicer, a KitchenAid mixer, and I don't know what else and have never had a complaint with a refurbished item.
