Any problems with the plastic fenders on Class II and III Boomers?

I got lazy and nearly broke the rear fender right off on one side. I took a 4' lawn wheel (metal, no water) and set it across the lawn mower on the 3-point. It looked stable but slid to one side.

Good news. Very easy & cheap to repair. Stopped and got a fiberglass repair kit at the automotive store. Mixed it up and applied after cleaning up the area and had it ready to set in about 15 min. Let it cure all night and cut the next morning.

I can't speak for the hood, but for sure my fenders are fiberglass.

Yep.. hood is too.. I have pretty good gouge from unloading RR ties off an 18 wheeler.. hit the strap tie-down gearing on the trailer.

moulded fiberglasss, polyester based, the facecoat (blue) is probably .06" thick, thicker in the radii. While the facecoat is still soft the fiberglass (chop) is sprayed, Chop is wet polyester mixed with cured polyester fibers. second layer, maybe white in this case, more wet polyester very small pieces of cured fibers. product is about .125 to .200" thick at this point. third layer less wet polyester larger cured fibers gives thickness and strength.
This is just a quick out line of the process, there might be 5 or 6 step or layers. different colors of backup layers is quality contol , cut it in pieces to check thickness of layers. Untinted polyester is a translusive amber color.
I want to say that all this is done today with robots spraying, as this was pretty nasty work in years past when men were controlling the guns, spraying into molds.
You want red fenders for a MF compact change the facecoat.
