In Wisconsin it seems every summer is orange cones season! two hundred miles south of me in Milwaukee it's coming up near me now CRAP!.
Depends on the state - a quick scan of AAA shows:
DC - yes
Hawaii - 9 feet
NM, NY, TN, TX, UT - 8 feet plus appurtenances.
2 of my trailers are 102" and the other is 114". Never thought of any of hem as wide other than the 9.5' one. I just use caution.

Total length: 60 feet (excluding boat transporters); trailer length: 28 feet 6 inches; motor home length: 45 feet; width: 8 feet 6 inches (for motor homes, excluding appurtenances up to the width of rear view mirrors); height: 13 feet 6 inches.
It is dang close to 102" overall width. When a 14K equipment trailer is 83 inches between fenders, what would be the overall width at the widest point (I'm assuming this would be to the outside edges of the fenders)?
