Has any of you ever had any more need for a boom pole after owning a tractor with a FEL?..... as now I have a FEL I'm thinking about getting rid of the 3 pt boom pole , although as most things go! if as soon as I get rid of it I'll realize I still may of had some use for it? or would I ever? If I would never have any more use I'd just assume get it out of my way.....;)

i use mine for dragging trees. its a lot easier to drive forward longer distances and still have the up and down movement. its how i log my firewood here at home. one thing i have thought about is making it also attach to my loader for that extra reach. the lifting caps would be low but it may be that extra little bit of reach you need..

Why would you sell and get rid of something that only costs $100 or so, you know you won't get anymore than that for it. Then, one day, you will have just one use for it and what will you do, borrow one? I have learned the hard way not to sell stuff like this.

My boom pole cost me $12 at an auction -- I use it with my drag harrow, to lift items heavier than the fel can lift, to pull trees out by the roots (see thread on pulling trees), to bring deer out of the bush, to move implements around, pulling posts etc. I have an FEL but sometimes the boom pole is better -- JMHO

I just picked this up. Almost a one of a kind 3 pt boom/crane. The guy I got it from made and sold about 10 of them about 12 years ago. He didn't bother getting a patent. It goes on the 3 pt but I going to adapt it for my loader frame as well. It has hydraulic control to extend it from about 5' to about 9' when it is fully extended. He nicely put feet on it so it can be stored easy. I can run the hydraulics off my rear remotes. When adapting to the FEL you can get another 9' of height. Haven't tried it yet on the tractor but can hardly wait. I still have to clean it up and repaint it. Together with the hydraulic toplink I just got it should be quite versatile

My boom pole is actually a reinforced pipe that I stick on the spike of a FEL hay spike I have.

This extends the reach of the FEL.... useful for placing things into and across a flatbed trailer or pickup bed... reaches further than a FEL with something chained under it.

I used mine for this purpose just the other day.

I would not like to use it on a small tractor or heavy load as it gives a lot of leverage to tilt the tractor backwards.

Maybe with a lot of front weight....

I've a little pull-behind dethatcher where a boom pole would be useful to attach to the back end of it to lift it up. Cannot back up with it because the hitch assembly buckles, very light weight. Raising it with a boom pole would allow me to back up with it.

Hey Deep, your in GA right? I ve been looking for a used boom pole seems that no one sells these very often i guess b/c of the original purchase price. I f you decide to sell yours id be interested, but we would have to be pretty near as im not going to drive to S. ga for a boom pole. I live near lincolnton GA (but in SC) and work Near Agusta Ga.

On the hydraulic boom, i was thinking the exact same thing as others, that thing looks like it would tip the tractor back with like 300lbs extended betweeen the leverage and the weight of the item and boom.
