My counterweight is 2,500lbs. It lifted it with no issues. It also tugs around my trailers perfectly fine. Why are you nitpicking it when I built it to suit my needs and does exactly what I wanted it to? This isn't my first rodeo.
Not nitpicking at all. Simple tests. Happy rodeoing.

Couple more pics, this time with the counterweight. I ended up leaving the Reese hitch on for the pic. Typically, I'd take it off if I was using the weight. The new counterweight will be roughly the same size, but it will have steel arms that come up and wrap over the top of the attachment, sort of like candy canes. It will also have a slot in it so the Reese hitch can stay in place and not keep the weight away from the backing structure. This way, you won't have to get off the tractor to use the Reese, gooseneck, or counterweight. The only time I'd have to physically do something is when I need the forks and then take them back off again (but that's not difficult to do).
