Where did you buy your meter?

Did you get it online?

I got it from R&B Mfg. Look at the first thread under the safety forum. They have at least 2 types. One in degrees, the other in grade. Mine is in degrees since my little brain doesn't fully comprehend grade numbers yet. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif They are very responsive to your needs. My first one had a problem. I e-mailed them and they had a new one in the mail that day.

Henro has it about right...the meter is useful the first time you go over some new territory...especially if you are new to the tractor. I still don't know the real tipping point of my TC35, but I do know where my usual tasks get me into 20 degree territory.

My R&B side-to-side meter has been been whacked by brush but not dislodged from its 2-sided tape mount. Adjustments on bracket let me true it up while level in the barn. But I look at it a lot less than when it and I were new to this.

I got mine from R&B as well. The first one I got would stick when the RPMs were up. They promptly sent me a new one. Unfortunatly, it does the same thing. The only time it reads correctly is when the moter is off.

FYI...

R&B Tilt Meters for compact tractors are available at a discount from the TBN Product Showcase.

Nothing but rave reviews, and R&B is one of the best companies you'll deal with.

I must be the only dissenting voice. I have one and it works, but it pretty much told me what I already knew: if the pucker factor kicks in the angle is too steep. I rarely bother to look at it anymore, but it's stayed right where I put it 2 years ago through rain, blizzards and scorching sun. So the double-sided tape works as well as the tiltmeter.
