My dealer wants to sell me a 52 inch reverse rotation tiller to be used on a
Kubota B2320 tractor (23 engine HP and 17 PTO HP). Here is a link: Woods Equipment Company - Reverse Rotation Tillers I know nothing about Woods implements so any and all experience and advice is very much appreciated! :p

Just bought one. Same as you are looking at. Woods stuff is built very well. I have a dealer very close and he managed to dicker a bit with me. Woods stuff is a bit high, but I have to think of service etc.

I'll let you know in June. Good luck..... to both of us.

I have a Woods GT series; standard rotation. It's a nice, solid unit. Kinda pricey but I only wanted to buy one....

I have a Woods GTC52 on the back of a TZ25 (19PTO HP?) and it's great. NO problem running the tiller at all, does a GREAT job, and I have very heavy soil.

My dealer rents a standard woods tiller to customers for a decent price. It worked well for me, can't complain. I will tell you that the vast majority of folks on this Board seem to like their KK tillers. And I am sure you can get one of those cheaper than any woods model. Woods is very pricey.

You know......I figured that the Woods stuff would be a lot more expensive, but I ended up only paying a hundred bucks more for my tiller than TSC is asking for a KK 48 incher.

When I went to pick up my Woods GTC52 the drive shaft was too long for my tractor. The dealer gave me a lesson on usage and sized/cut the shaft for me. Nothing against TSC, actually I am a faithful customer, but I really doubt that TSC would have provided me with the kind of service I got from the Woods dealer.

You do realize that you got "less" tiller and paid more money by purchasing the Woods don't you? That King Kutter tiller is a GEAR DRIVE tiller as opposed to a chain drive. The King Kutter has six tines per flange as standard equipment. I think you can get a Woods GTC with six tines per flange, but standard is four tines per flange. I hope, for your sake, you got six, but by the sound of the price you paid... you probably didn't.

Also... the King Kutter tiller is made right here in the U.S.

The Woods is imported from Italy.

Having said all that... I'm sure the Woods tiller will work out for you just fine, but the better value, by far, is the King Kutter. Especially, if you look at all the specifications.

Can't argue with the wonderful service your dealer provided though. That's worth something...

The old tiller we had was 20+ years old before the gearbox broke (not the chain) and the parts from JD were just too expensive to fix a 20+ year old unit. That's when I bought my woods. Gear VS chain? Do you really think that chain will break?

I run the 6 foot reverse rotation woods tiller (GTR72) and it's been wonderful.
I have 35 PTO hp and have run it at full depth through virgin ground. No problems at all. I love it! :D

I used a Woods GT52 for the last 6 years, and it's been great. It would spit out softball size rocks all day. I used it on everything from gardens to new yards, and even to clean up construction sites. I never had any problems with it at all. I just sold it last week so I could get a GT60 for my bigger tractor.I like Woods equipment very much. I think it's some of the best I've ever seen in quality and dependability. On top of that, if I need help or parts I can get them easily and quickly.I like the chain drive, just because if something does break, it's easier to fix a chain than it is to change a gear. Sometimes there are to many other parts that need to come off to get the gear off. On top of all that I was able to sell my 6 year old Woods for the same price as a new 48" KK would have cost me.

IKE,

Your contribution is encouraging. Sounds like you have used yours pretty hard and went back for another.

Done my share of railroading in Sandwich. All of those towns are up there good towns.

I bought a GTC52-2 last summer and absolutely love it. I have about the same PTO h.p. as you adn my tractor has no problem running the 52". I also have a GBC48 box blade that is very well made. Can't go wrong with Woods equipment IMHO.
